I must of tried every level on both games on veteran a good 20-30 times and there are still a fair few on each game that i can't get the achievement for. I do get bored with continuously losing easily but these games are close to impossible.

COD4 isnt majorly hard until you get towards the end on veteran, but CoD5 i know how you feel im like 4 missions in on the campaign and im dying to much it takes the piss, you just have to play really tactically and by that i mean run, hide, run, hide repeat process and eventually you will get there

I got through everyone on veteran in 4 except for the damned plane epilogue, and in WaW i was missing like 3 missions. What missions have you gone through?

I had most problem with the grenades, I would run around a corner and there lies a grenade that is all ready to explode me to smitherines. I eventually found out that using your teamates as meatshields and guinnea-pigs, is a winning strategy. the only bad thing about this is that they have this annoying habit of giving you all the suicide missions, and won't move untill you move.
so I found myself running forward, just enough to get my teamates to move forward, and then run back, and start putting lead in the bad guys that poped up to shoot my guinea-pigs.

Basically this, I'm 5 missions from the end in WaW and it ridiculous the amount of times I have died

You must be very proud.

And I can never finish "One Shot, One Kill" or that other mission where you have to disarm the nukes. Those I find too hard.
The Mile High Club was, oddly enough, easy for me though.

I agree with you about CoD:WaW since the enemies throw fuse-less grenades, but COD4 in veteran was actually pretty easy (with the exception of timed missions). Just take your time and use flashbangs to cover you as you from from one piece of cover to another. And don't stay in 1 spot too long or they'll throw like 50,000 grenades at you.

Let me know which missions in COD4 you're having trouble with.

I finally beat the entire game on Veteran recently and it was one of the best feelings I've ever had as a gamer getting the Mile High Club Acheivement.

Beating that plane level is like learning a ballet dance, every move you make for the entire minute has to be perfectly timed and learned through trial and error. One mistake and you're fucked.

You have to get lucky with the AI too because your teammates are retarded and will block your route/not kill anything.

Oh, and FLASHBANGS!

I found No Fighting in the War Room to be the worst. Took me days.

Don't want to sound snobby, ah heck, i always am

I beat COD 4 on vet in under a week. 1000geed it too!

As i write i am loading up COD WAW and am starting it on Vet.

I'll let you know how i fare later today
The achievement for doing the tutorial in the time limit was almost as tough as some of the in game levels. I got the 1000 GP too, man was that a happy day!

Not gonna bother with COD WAW on Vet, sounds too cheap and frustrating and Borderlands is out next week.

COD 4 Veteran was easy for me at least, now WaW that was bloody ridiculous. I gave up at the Reichstag and haven't touch the game since.

Wish i could complete both bloody games. That's bad that veteran difficulty put you off playing the game that defeats the fun aspect of the game.

EDIT: Mile high club mainly

I tried for about 2 hours with COD4 on veteran but gave up after the newsroom on "Charlie Don't Surf"
So many freaking grenades it made me want to break something in frustrated rage.
I'm just not that good I suppose.

That's the same level i got stuck on and missed out
Here's how you can beat that level very easily:

As soon as you get to the TV Room, throw a flash grenade towards the door/hallway in the far left corner.

Run in that direction.

Throw another flash when you are halfway across the room.

Keep runnning into that top left hallway, because that is where the enemies spawn from.

Now that you've triggered the spawn cutoff, simply use the alcove as cover and lean out to pick the guys off.

I beat that room in under a minute on veteran with this technique.

The most important thing in COD4 Vet is learning where the enemy spawns are and how to get there quickly.

Flash grenades are a gift from God.
