Veteran Difficulty Level On COD4 and COD5

i remember that in 4, in the sniping mission (where you have to wait to be picked up) i died a lot because i just looked for a place to hide and crouched there, just to be showered with grenades.

Personally, I found W@W to be a lot harder than Modern Warfare. Mostly down to the fact I just cannot do the last two levels on Veteran difficulty. I can barely pop my head out of cover before getting it shot off or grenade spammed two seconds later.

Though Modern Warfare was pretty tough in places, a bit of perseverance and the flash-spam and run to the spawn point did the trick for me. Just remember to turn the console off when the game stops being fun.

I have three levels left to do in WaW which apparently are some of hardest according to quite a few players. Damn you Relentless, Heart of the Reich, and blowtorch and corkscrew!

I laugh at veteran on cod4.

Never played the full cod5 game cause its not IW and I rented it.

You have to treat it like a super realistic shooter. Cover and Concealment. Those damn Infinite spawn sections just require amazing left thumb stick pressing.

Finished both on Veteran the only two missions I died more than once on were the final two World at war levels.

If that's the case how come you only unlocked the "Throw a Six and a Half" trophy AFTER you finished the campaign? Surely if you finished all but the last 2 levels without dying more than once you would have unlocked it after the first few levels?

More than once, meaning I died on the last two levels more than once.

So you died exactly once for all the levels? Huh.. can you explain how Purple Heart (die 5 times at one checkpoint) is your 5th unlocked trophy in WaW then?

Borrowed game from a friend and tried to counter a banzai attack but thought it was like dogs were you had to press at the exact time they stab you.

lol, now this is just getting amusing. I suppose that once you figured out the proper timing, you were able to do everything else in the game with no effort at all. Congrats on making up a story to impress the internet.

I consider myself an average-good shot and I only play SP games on the hardest difficulties because even then I blow through them quickly. I'm honestly not trying to be an a-hole. I'm curious. I'm baffled.


You guys want to try a hard game, download Sin Episidoe 1 from steam. That game was awesomely hard on max difficulty (although it was kind of a crappy game). Low on health and ammo most of the game. Taking about having to make your shots count.

Yeah I beat cod4 and the MHC level on vet.
I started 5 on hardened, did ok until that freaking final stairs to get into the nazi stronghold building (the end of the 2nd to last level)
I beat mile high club after minimum 1.5 hours straight playing. The escape sequence on vet didn't destroy me like I thought it would, and I only got stuck for 30 min on no fighting in the war room.

Have you actually played cod4 mile high club? Or are you talking from internet excperience? Regen health means nothing if by waiting for even 1 second total to do ANYTHING you run out of time.

It isn't too hard, play it enough and with a bit of luck you'll succeed. The fact that seemingly infinite enemies spawn from a closet is annoying and the grenade spam was a pain.

Its really not that hard if you have the patience to wait up at times and try again, i finished CoD 2/4/5 on veteran, didn't occur to me to try veteran back when i was playing CoD 1, but it was hard and fun, especially the Russian missions in CoD 2
