lol holy crap I have kind of lost faith in this. i have been signed up since the first day it was posted and haven't been able to take one survey yet other than the basic ones on your profile. I logged on today and finally saw one to take but when i clicked on it, it took me to a link saying i have already taken that survey and then I went back to my main profile page and surprise surprise "you currently do not qualify for any surveys" I think this whole VGMarket thing is shit.

I was just told my account was probably fraudulent and I didn't get anything, not even the music. So I closed it.

The member profiles are very suspicious -- March 2010 and July 2010. Seems very likely that those two accounts could have easily been planted by the staff to try and provide a thread of legitimacy to the whole VGMS scam.

Dude, that's WAAAAY too conspiracy theory. If the site owners wanted to fake up an account they could date it February 31 of 1974 or something - they wouldn't need to just grab one the day someone got the idea. The survey thing is dicey as hell IMHO, but I seriously doubt Spinwhiz is sitting in his darkened cubicle and laughing maniacally as he makes fake accounts.

I also didn't get any amazon/whatever vouchers; did get the "cd" though..

So far I've not had any problems with VGMS. I've made ten bucks, cashed it out for an amazon.com voucher. Haven't had any hack attempts on my computer, no viruses breaching my defenses. Just very small lumps of money in exchange for my time filling out surveys.

Pretty much me, though I'm still working towards a voucher.

I think the surveys are given to you based on your profile, so a 100% filled may not always give you instant surveys.

No surveys here although i filled it all in 100% and for a long while i didn't even get daily polls. I'm from Australia so if i continue to not get any surveys really it shouldn't be classed as worldwide.

I haven't even seen the "Daily" poll change. It's only been about a month...

Edit: Also this may only be for me but I was not able to delete my account it just took me to the overview instead of deleting the account.

I'd love for this to have been real, I can see a place for survey results being... contracted or something by publishers to get info on gamers. These mixed responses here are just confusing me.

Have not received any spam either though. Maybe Australians aren't considered important enough to survey or spam.

EDIT - After some thought I have cancelled my account with them. I feel it's better to be safe than sorry.

I have been signed up with them since this was introduced on The Escapist and I have yet to see ANYTHING game related. I have gotten Erectile Disfunction surveys, Beer surveys, Automotive, etc...

Not a single game related survey. Sent a message to the general Escapist mailbox as well as to Russ and Susan, but I don't think they care.

I haven't ended my acct with VGM yet, but I am giving them a little more time to impress me.

EDIT: Oh BTW, the "game music" CD, isn't real tracks from the real games. It is a Piano score CD done by someone else.

EDIT2: SpinWhiz has responded to me (THANK YOU!) and he is going to check with them to see why we're not getting gaming surveys.

After speaking with their rep, other surveys can be delivered due to demographic information because they have clients that are more than just gaming companies. However, he also said more game surveys are on their way.

This is utter and complete crap. If you have a problem, feel free to PM me about it but spreading completely false lies I will not condone on this site, especially when it brings The Escapist name into it.

Anyone else choosing to call this a scam (which it's not), keep it to yourself or you will be banned for trolling.

For those of you not getting surveys, don't worry, that will come. It just depends on what clients are doing research on which demographics in different geographic locations. Over time, you will get more and more surveys but sometimes it takes patience.

I haven't signed up for surveys but I get them emails too, even though I don't even have a battle.net account.

Consider it somebody else's PC has the virus and you were on their contact list and it farmed you. Is this the same problem as the postmaster message failed attempt?

I have been sent a few surveys though but a lot more spam and I think my steam account was hacked but I fixed that.
The users do look a little fishy, other users can't help it if they feel a bit suspicious about this whole site, these sorts of sites that require you to enter a lot of personal data are dangerous and people can't help it if they feel suspicious about it

I feel somewhat disappointed in this. I signed up for this the day they featured it on the escapist and I haven't had a survey since. I knew surveys are targeted to certain demographics but this had been over a month now. Today I clicked on the redeem rewards button to get that free music CD and it said that my account has been suspended on suspicion of fraud. I have no idea why it has been and why I was never notified of this beforehand. I have sent in a complaint but who knows what is going to happen or when.
