cpu intel core2 cpu 6400 2.13ghz
ram 2gb
vista 32 bit
Crysis 2 minimum system requirements

* Operating system: Windows XP, Vista or Windows 7, with the latest Service Pack
* Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo at 2Ghz, or AMD Athlon 64 x2 2Ghz, or better
* Memory: 2Gb (Vista requires 3Gb)
* Hard disk space: 9Gb
* Video: NVidia 8800GT with 512Mb RAM, ATI 3850HD with 512Mb RAM, or better
* Sound: DirectX Compatible Sound Card
* DirectX: 9.0c
* Controller support? Microsoft Xbox360 Controller for Windows
* Any special multiplayer requirements? Internet Connection Required
* Internet connection also required for a one-time authorization when the game installed/first run.
There ya go. Gonna have to upgrade your RAM and spend around $90 on a video card to run Crysis 2 on the lowest settings. And even then I can't guarantee you'll get very good frame rates...your processor will probably be screaming bloody murder.
according to the info for the card i have i won't need to upgrade anything else other then the graphics card but I'm waiting for my dad to talk to a friend from work who knows computer tech
You said you have Vista, which requires 3GB of RAM to run Crysis 2, as opposed to 2GB for other OSes.
as long as it loads and can play at a decent pace i'll be fine if not ram is getting upgraded.
In all honesty, it's not going to. It'll load, but your frame rate won't go above 25FPS and will at times drop to 10FPS or lower. Your machine was never designed to play today's full retail games.
this is the first one that i've had problems with if i didn't want to play it i wouldn't even think about upgrading till i ran across a game that doesn't work.
i own a console and i want to play this game i payed for it on steam

It's your party, man. Just telling you what I think based on those minimum requirements vs your computer's specs. Since you were asking about a graphics card, I'm assuming this can't actually be the first title you've had frame rate issues with.
first one i've noticed anything. first time it paused that starting going and paused again second time all i could see was the HUD and everything else was black

Get another 2 gigs of memory, the easiest way to use performance. As your standing right now you only really have 1 gb of free working memory as Vista usually floats around a gb iirc.

It's Vista 32 bit ... which has a physical address limit of 4 GB, which includes video RAM.

Now, simply not being able to use the RAM is one thing, but on some systems having system + video RAM in excess of 4 GB actually causes BSODs.
