Video Editing Program?

I need a video editing program.

I used to LOVE WMM for simple stuff, which I kind of need. I have problems with WMM for some stuff (which is why I use Vegas for my Pro projects), but for what i need now is great. However, I am running vista and I had to download WMM off of the webz. It is being terribly buggy with clips freezing and weird glitches which I cannot deal with. I don't currently have my laptop with Vegas on it right now but I SERIOUSLY need a program so I can get something very important done. Can anyone link me to a good free editor?

I'd suggest Wax. One of my friends has used it in the past, and had nothing but good things to say about it.

I haven't used it myself, but I'm sure it's around the same level as WMM.

My fav is Corel VideoStudio Pro X3. All the rest of my film class swears by the Adobe program, which I must confess I haven't tried.
