I can't understand why people think Team Fortress 2 is so good.

I still haven't completed Half Life 2, but haven't enjoyed what I've played so far.
Not a fan of the Zelda series, especially the 3D iterations.

The only Zelda game I have ever played was the first one for the DS, and I hated it. The graphics were ugly and bland, and I hated the gimmicky emphasis on the touch screen. Why can't I have a choice? I traded it in for something else.

Nerd rage? Anime and JRPGs are the worst creation in the world and need to be purged. It's a plague on creative media as a whole.

I played Oblivion for 10 minutes before leaving it. Haven't picked it up since.
CoD is meh.
Half-Life is Meh.
Have never played any MGS game.
Never finished a pokedex and have only played 1 pokemon game.

I've only put about ten minutes into Oblivion, and I've had it for a few months. The combat feels clunky and the graphics look muddy for a 2006 game. The only thing I might pick it up again for is the guild aspect, which sounds kind of neat.

I really don't care for Nintendo anymore. They can release however many Mario, Zelda or Metroid Prime games they want, and as many gimmicks as they care for. I couldn't care less, truly.

There are some games that i would like to know the story rather than playing them... Like Portal, I liked the first couple of levels but then it started being too complicated and boring, but I still want to know who is behind the experiment and if the cake really is a lie.
Lets just say that lately I don't have a lot of time off to spend on all the games I would like, damn I miss my hischool years...
I m Playing Red Dead Redemption and its frustrating not being able to play more than 2 hrs straight...

The first Starcraft was boring, Halo and CoD are alright games, and the sheer number of RPG's available at any given time is ridiculous. Who has time to play THAT MANY RPG'S?

I have heard nice things about it. As a matter of fact, there is an "evaluation essay" (critical review) written on it in my college English textbook! XD

Well, I wouldn't know about any video game confessions that would make nerds rage, but as for stuff in general: I don't care for Firefly, Joss Whedon or Nathan Fillion.

OT: I have never owned a Smash Brothers game nor do I really care to. I just recently got a Gamecube and I am still reluctant to purchase Brawl. Also: I thought Resistance, Resistance 2, and, Killzone 2 were complete garbage. Uncharted was just bad. These are the main reasons I have such a bad impression of the PS3 and likely why I will never like it as much as my 360.

I didn't like Mass Effect...I don't think Activision's the gaming equivalent of the Third Reich, without Peter Molyneux gaming as a whole would be very boring indeed.

I have never played a Bathesda game that I can honestly say I liked... that includes Morrowind, Oblivion, and Fallout 3...

I blame Halo for the current state of the FPS genre...

Cinematic games piss me off...

I've only played Duke Nukem once...

I think Perfect Dark is completely overrated...

I'm gonna buy Deus Ex Human Revolution on launch day despite the fact that I know it's gonna be crap... justbecause I loved the original that much...

Cut scenes are my nemesis. If I wanted to watch a movie, I'd watch one and it'd make the video game cinematic look like a short story scribbled down my some insecure middle schooler.

I meant trying to fit cinematic set pieces into gameplay... more often than not they're extremely shallow that are simply their to look pretty and not give any kind of challenge or experience to the player...

Mass Effect is a 'meh' action game

World of Warcraft was really quite fun

I played Gears of War recently with a mindset of 'this is going to be dull' it was slightly better than expected, but only slightly.

The last 'War based First Person Shooter' I played was Battlefield 1942 which I loved.

I was really excited for Brink, then I saw gameplay of what looked like another dull, dime a dozen shooter type game.

I LOVED the Megaman Battle Network series and only in the past year or so have started playing the original games. (Never got into the X series)

I disliked Fallout 3 but loved Oblivion and New Vegas
I hate FPS that doesn't have a great single player
The only Xbox 360 exclusives I REALLY like are the Mass Effect games and Tales of Vesperia (both of which are/will be playable on Ps3)
I think Halo is terrible
I think CoD is worse
I think Heavy Rain is my game of the year
I have the Final Fantasy XIII soundtrack on my Mp3 player
...I used to REALLY fancy Rikku from Final Fantasy X
I like Metal Gear Solid 2 most
I like Raiden, he's really cool!
I love Capcom's games but my favourite is Phoenix Wright, not Resi or DMC or anything like that
I dislike the majority of western games

Oh yeah, I think text adventure should have a come back!

I don't take anyone's opinion on gaming seriously after ages on GameFAQs, 4chan and the likes filled with constant whinging and fanboy wars - which is part of the reason I'm falling in love with The Escapist forums.

I have a good way of weeding out the haters though, only pay attention to the actual positive comments online.

Not really gaming, but it's all relevant.

But no, it has to do with the art style, the writing style, the common themes, the character flaws, character archetypes, nonsensical stupidity, the people who like it, the culture it's created. How it's hardly ever changed in the last 20 years.

The people and the culture it's created (In america at least) are the worst. As an artist I find it absolutely infuriating when someone says "OH MUH GAWSH IM AN ARTIST TO ^^ , I draw anime and things mostly I REALLY REALLY REALLY WANNA DRAW MY OWN ANIME SERIES :3 HAVE YOU SEEN THIS ANIME SERIES IT'S MY FAVORITE ITS LIEK REALLY SUPER SUPER COOL ITS GOT THIS GUY AND HE DOES STUFF AND OH MAN YOU NEED TO SEE IT LOOK AT THIS YOU HAVE TO WATCH IT SERIOUSLY GO PAY 300 DOLLARS FOR THE IMPORTED COLLECTORS SET HAND CRAFTED BY GOD HIMSELF! I hate it when people tell me to watch my anime in japanese with subtitles, because somehow it being in japanese makes the characters more tolerable (it does not, you just can't understand them) or the story less stupid, or the genre less bland and samey.

I hate the fact that it's bland and samey. I hate just about everything about anime and JRPGs (I will say...yes I have had fun playing some JRPGs, but it wasn't because of their art style, their writing, or their "likable" characters)It's just -bad- I don't care where it came from.

JRPGs at least have one saving grace, gameplay. Which actually can't come from anime. So it allows me to at least try to stomach it...though I usully cannot.

Never played Shadow of the Colossus... not that I wouldn't want to, but at this point I practically know the whole plot. Kinda takes the wind out of it.

I like ALL of the Matrix movies.

Still haven't finished Bioshock. Loved it at first, but I'm having trouble getting back into it now.

Valve is a mediocre game developer from the few games I've played. Same for Bethesda and Bioware.

Have you played through any developer commentary on Valve games? (I'm thinking Portal, Left 4 Dead). Sounds like they put a lot of thought into how they design their games and it shows. Not saying you have to like the end product, but the care they put into is worth noting.

Not sure what to say about Bethesda and all I know of BioWare are the (in my opinion) excellent Mass Effect games.

Also, don't get on with the Zelda games. Stupid RPG platformers.
