Pretty much this. I loved Crisis Cores ending and how depressingly joyous it was. Upon reflection though I feel that the jpop song that comes in around half way through kind of ruins it a bit, but it's hardly detrimental to the entirety of it. You're sad over this tragedy but at the same time you're also happy that he got the freedom he was striving for and that he fulfilled his dream.traceur_ said:The guys at Square Enix really know how to make a great game, these ending are so amazing, my words can't do them justice, so I'll just say FINAL FANTASY ROCKS!!
Seeing your picture reminds me that Persona 3 had a really good ending too.-Seraph- said:Pretty much this. I loved Crisis Cores ending and how depressingly joyous it was. FF6's ending is also a great one as it gives such good closure to all the cast with enough whimsical intrigue left for the audience to wonder just what the future lies in store for this world of scorched earth.
Also i gotta say the ending to the first Halo was GREAT. It was full of suspense and playing through it really give you a rush and feeling like you are not gonna make it. It was so great with that final mad dash towards the longsword while flood all around you are shooting you and this last few seconds are counting down. Man was that a fun ending.
Yeah... I'm just going to go ahead and call you on this. If you have no idea what you're talking about, you probably shouldn't list it as the "Best ending ever."Multi-Kill said:The Ghost Busters SNES Ending. wHEN I FIRST SAW IT ON avgn, I was like:"WOW, just wow."
It was so bad, it was funny, and therefore good.
Okay, i admit MGS2 is a load of garbage, say what you want about MGS1 but 3&4 have some of the best endings everAxeli said:By "any of the MGS games" you mean "MGS3, and only MGS3, because actually all the others suck horribly"? No? Not even a bit?lenneth said:any of the MGS games

something in my head says TWEWY, but i cant actually remember what the ending of that is, pretty sure its weird though
...
Honestly, they do suck you know, in my humble absolutely right opinion.
How is MGS4 good? It seemed to attempt to top every other long-winded cardboard speech ever made. You know, in being too long and pointless.lenneth said:Okay, i admit MGS2 is a load of garbage, say what you want about MGS1 but 3&4 have some of the best endings everAxeli said:By "any of the MGS games" you mean "MGS3, and only MGS3, because actually all the others suck horribly"? The whole scene was glued on just so that Kojima would have an excuse to explain the few last plot points somewhere and show Big Boss one last time as fan service, despite how ridiculously far you'd have stretch willing suspension of disbelief to make that seem make any sense at all.
Raiden's scene just served to push the character completely to wangst. To that point I could somehow fathom his depression (yes, even the "It ever rained on the day I was born..." conversation, given it actually foreshadowed a completely awesome scene that gave a meaning to his code name), but to give him a completely happy ending, looking like a human again and getting his family back, and still have him whine?
Not that the wedding part before was jumping between anything else but cheesy, melodramatic and bland either. There was one good part where Sunny asks Otacon where Snake is. It does not redeem it, but it was sad to see Otacon lose one last person important to him while basically telling another that she doesn't need to live with him anymore.
MGS1 wasn't that bad, I admit that. Just a bit dull, but that might be because I already knew FOXDIE wouldn't kill Snake anytime soon, having played MGS2 first.
1. Every ending ever ties to the story. That's what endings to. However if you mean the plottwists, I think I already mentioned that.lenneth said:Axeli said:How is MGS4 good? It seemed to attempt to top every other long-winded cardboard speech ever made. You know, in being too long and pointless.

1. Because it actually ties up the story, like a good ending should
2. Ignore the part with Raiden, when is he ever likeable?
3. you left out the best part...you know, the part of the ending that actually involves SNAKE, and have instead chosen to rag on side characters not many people like anyway(people who like raiden are few and far between)
Im mainly refering to pretty much everything that happens aboard Outer Haven, namely everything that happens between Snake and LiquidAxeli said:snip
Those parts were pretty awesome (minus the cheesy Mery & Johnny scene), but hardly the ending. The narrative jumps quite a bit from those scenes to "the end" scenes to be considered a part of it.lenneth said:Im mainly refering to pretty much everything that happens aboard Outer Haven, namely everything that happens between Snake and LiquidAxeli said:snip
I always though that was the "proper" ending and all that other stuff is just epilouge to tie up loose endsAxeli said:Those parts were pretty awesome (minus the cheesy Mery & Johnny scene), but hardly the ending. It's just a matter of definition really. Depending how you define "ending", epilogue could mean the same thing. They both seem rather similarly and inexactly defined words. Might wanna mention you mean the Outer Heaven part in the future topics.lenneth said:I always though that was the "proper" ending and all that other stuff is just epilouge to tie up loose endsAxeli said:Those parts were pretty awesome (minus the cheesy Mery & Johnny scene), but hardly the ending.
