So I was having some awful egg drop soup in a college cafeteria and these goofballs were playing this game where they would make their fingers into glasses and go around trying to catch people off guard. If a person with finger-glasses looked at a person without them, the losing party was declared "killed" and would have to lay on the nasty, greasy ground for twenty seconds before standing again. This kid got "killed" right next to my table and laid on the ground patiently while he counted. Right as he tried to sit up another kid ran by and looked at him with finger-glasses. He sighed, laid back down, and started counting again, at which point I jumped from my table, pointed, and shouted "SPAWN KILL!" People looked at me like I was unstable, but I was laughing too hard to care.

In another example of this, a friend and I were watching a fireworks display that was several miles away. When the first fireworks flashed in the distance, there was a two or three second delay before the sound reached us. My buddy said "Huh. Lag." in a total matter-of-fact voice. I totally lost it.

So what video games/life crossover moments have y'all had? And when you have them, do you hang your head in shame at your geekyness, or loudly point it out in case someone gets it?

Also, have you ever walked away from a difficult conversation wondering whether you just got paragon or renegade points? I know I have...

When I worked a t a Go-kart business, everytimes somebody crashed and flipped their cart all I could think was "TAKEDOWN" or "REVENGE TAKEDOWN" from the Burnout series.

I can't drive after playing Saint's Row 2 for a few hours; it makes me want to turn on Easy Listening and run over everyone I see.

Also, sometimes my husband and I will make the "get item" noise from Zelda when we get something.

I went to pick up my friend from his Thai Boxing lesson recently and just as one guy was looking abit wobbly I, and about 6 other guys shouted "FINISH HIM!" and he did. It was awesome and totally unplanned.

I discovered that energy drinks come in little two-shot sizes, and when I took one before one of my classes, I immediately felt like I had just drank a health potion and was back to a full bar. The sound that plays Sims 2 when they drink the life-drink played in my head too...

I once got a running start and jumped from the curb, across one lane of the road at the court houst square, across the double line, and into the middle of the next lane ala prince of persia. This was at 9:30 PM on a monday, so there was noone out sans the people in the bars.

Every time I go to buy Mountain Dew from the college cafeteria I think "what potion's will I need today". I usually buy 1 Red and 2 Blues for Health and Mana to carry me through the day.

Once I was sparring/wrestling with a friend and beat him. Someone's cell went off and all you hear is the Final Fantasy victory theme. Hilarity ensued.


Last but not least, while hunting I once reached for my wetstone to sharpen my knife...I also thought the deer was a kelbi...

I use both of those lines so frequently. And they find them so lame. No one can help but laugh.
