I create this thread for one reason and one reason only.

Handsome Jack is going to die. If for some reason the game does not let me kill him then I will find out a way to mod the games so I can. Never before has any video game forced me to temporarily stop playing due to the physical symptoms of anger and pure rage. One one hand I want to congratulate whoever wrote the Borderlands 2 story but on the other I want to yell at them for doing so many horrible things to some characters. I'f it weren't for my having class in an hour and having to get ready I would be back in Borderlands 2.

HE KILLS BLOODWING! HE KILLS ROLAND! HE ENSLAVES LILITH! The whole time shouting about how it is all your fault and taunting you. Not to mention what he did to his own daughter throughout her life (just now finding the Echo's about his past). Honestly thinking about all of this still makes me angry which is odd since I am usually so level headed, barely blinking at huge plot revelations or character deaths.

Now that thats out of the way. How about you. What game villains have enraged you past a normal point. Would rather it be plot related but boss fights of complete unfairness work too.

Recently, the first thing that comes to mind is 'The Stranger' in The Walking Dead game.

I won't spoil anything for anyone, but damn, I wanted to hunt that bastard down, even if it meant walking through a horde of walkers to do it.

I know how you feel. That entire story arc had me brimming with rage.

Felt freaking good when you actually did walk through a horde of walkers beating down any that got in your way to get to him.

I remember being pretty pissed at Malak in KotOR after one cutscene erases hours of sidequesting on Taris. That's maybe a little meta, though. I wasn't angry at him because he was written as an effective villain, but because WHY THE TITS DID I SPEND TWO HOURS WANDERING ROUND THAT SEWER LOOKING FOR A STUPID JOURNAL!! Help the nice doctor find a cure for the Rakghoul disease? Doesn't matter, everybody's dead. Pay off that troubled man's debts? Dead. Help that prissy woman out by clearing her bounty when she acted in self defence? Dead. GODDAMNIT MALAK!

As for bad guys I got angry with because of their actions in the story, Dr Mercer from Dead Space stands out for me, after

he murders Jacob Temple and Elizabeth Cross right in front of you, after a couple of levels of hearing them trying to find each other via logs, trying to do everything you did to fix the ship and being genuine, all round nice guys. I was honestly way more invested in them than faceless mute Isaac, and seeing them murdered for stupid, quasi-scientologye-esque religion really got my fist clenching, you know? Suffice to say that when you do eventually come face to face with Mercer, I didn't give him the death he wanted. I shot the thing off him before he could transform, then curb stomped his still human body into meaty chunks small enough to make Mercer nuggets out of.

In BioShock 2, Sofia Lamb was an antagonist I didn't really like at the start of the game. She gave the impression of a know-it-all overprotective soccer mom. During the course of the game, my opinion of her went from "What a *****" to "I am going to find that wench and jam this drill so deep down that motormouthing throat of hers and I won't stop drilling until I find oil"

She reaaaaaelly got under my skin with that rotten voice of hers.

Imma go with Relius from BlazBlue because Makoto's bad ending is harsh. Also he has a hand in anything bad that happens to any character but I love Makoto too much to excuse her bad ending :(

I'm guessing he's going to end up as more of a villian than Hazama later on but Hazama is just so delightful I could never hate him.

That voice acting. THAT VOICE ACTING.

Paulie Franchetti. If there's one character in The Darkness who deserves to have his face bitten off and his heart devoured the most, it's him.

The Queen from ICO. I really, really wanted her to die.

For context, I started to feel like this after she turns Yorda to stone and makes you fall from the bridge. When I got back into the castle and found petrified Yorda in the sarcophagus room, it made me want to kill her even more.

For a more recent example, I was pretty determined to get Morinth from Mass Effect 2's head on a spike after looking through the journal of the girl she murdered. Made it worse that you have to talk to the girl's understandably distraught mother.

Bishop Ladja from Dragon Quest V. That bastard kidnaps your mom, kills your dad, forces you into 10 years of slavery and turns you and your wife into statues.

HE KILLS ROLAND!
I'm with you 100% on that one.

[spoiler/]Bloodwing didn't really get to me too much mostly because I saw it coming with the whole "Elemental Damage" thing, but Roland hit me really fucking hard for two reasons:
1) It was in such a moment of victory. The old character united, Angel dead, Jack's oh so invulnerable Bunker defeated. I honestly thought the game was winding down.
2) THAT WAS MY SOLDIER. I took my Roland to hell and back in Borderlands 1. We killed zombies, we squashed midgets, we blew up a giant claptrap and we exploited the shit out of Crawmerax. We reached the highest level and found a Pearlescent gun.
[/spoiler]

Up until that point, I though Jack was kind of cute, funny and impotent. That sure as fuck changed. I wanted that **** DEAD.

It seems you haven't finished the game yet, so I wont spoil more, but I'll tell you this: You'll be VERY satisfied...

I didn't find Handsome jack made me angry, the guy was trying way too hard.

Now the kid who stole my rabbit and hit me with a sword in crestfallen studios the way, that guy!

Usually I don't get angry at the villain, just coldly determined to destroy them, which is a good thing if the options available;

Those sorts include Karras from thief 2, the scientist experimenting on people in dishonoured, a few characters in the Witcher 2, including that pompous king, oh and the Tarent merchants guild in Arcanum, especially so since that whole x-files-esk case.

The Architect from Dragon Age: Awakening. The meeting with the guy went something like this:

"hey I'm not even that bad"
"cool"
"but I was totally responsible for the Blight tho"
*ಠ_ಠ*
"I also totally accidentally besieged Warden's Keep and I'm also responsible for that other faction that almost kills all your dudes and the city too"
*frothing at the mouth, visible through helmet*
"but I want a armistice because we just want no more fighting"
*sounds of a dwarven berserker playing hopscotch in the Architect's ribcage*

The main villian in Spec Ops: The Line.
You see all of those civilians in that trench and burn them all to death just too kill a few soldiers so you can try to figure out whats going on.

Oh God yes, I had to stop playing because I wanted to throw shit and yell, and when you have to choose

Whether or not you amputate Lee's arm my first thought was "I'll need both arms to strangle this mother fucker."

Major kudos to Telltale and Skybound for making a great game with awesome characters.

the death of 2 revered heroes.
the suicide of the princess

Actually, in The Old Republic(side-quest spoilers) there's a quest that has you finding the journals left behind by the survivors who managed to find whatever they were searching for, and they survived down there for several generations until the Rakghouls "evolved" and they ran out of medicine. Also there's a quest where you locate samples of the cure which can be remade to one that works against the current disease, so in that sense it's not all a waste :p

Kefka.. He was a fucking asshole. Destroys the world, kills your friends and laughs about it. And then of course he becomes god. What a dick.
