When CRACKED has better info and accuracy than you, you need to fix something.

Yahoo has this problem.

An internet article titled 'Video games are dying' will generate significantly more page-views, and thus more revenue, than one titled 'Video games haven't doing anything terribly noteworthy in recent months.'

An overly cynical take, yes, but not inaccurate I feel.

I call shenannigans, then bullshit, and finally a nuke-launch from orbit. (It's the only way to be sure.) There are so many Chicken Little people out there that it's not even funny.

Everyone I know is pumped for the WiiU and the line up of games for the 3DS and WiiU this year are amazing and has a grand enough audience that they will probably buy day one of releases.

You can thank Yahoo/Microsoft back-office dealing for that little gem. It's in Yahoo's commercial interests for the XBox to come out on top.

For that very same reason, Yahoo wants to downplay the importance of portable and casual gaming, which aren't really Microsoft's strong suit. If you take that approach, then stating that the medium of the video game is on the downturn is probably no real surprise. How the hell would Final Fantasy XIV exist in a thriving and competitive gaming industry?

As many have been saying, it could be that we could be coming to a time where we would have to download the games we want, instead of going to a store and picking up a physical copy of the game. However, I wouldn't really take Yahoo that seriously.

This is true.
