OT: We don't need to re-name them. When you think about it, movies are called movies as an abbreviation of the phrase "moving pictures", which is a pretty damn outdated way of looking at the medium. Yet, we still call them "movies" without a second thought.
Also, comics/"graphic novels" AREN'T respected by the general public. Movies BASED off them are.
I can see the attraction to a new name, one that elevates the media beyond mere 'entertainment', much like comic books that took themselves seriously got called 'graphic novels'.
So...I dunno. Something like 'Interactive Media' sounds alright. Interactive has to be in there somewhere, that's the whole point. It doesn't matter too much to me.
