Honestly, it's not that often you'll see a good game for Xbox 360 or PS3 that is less than a 12+ (T for you Americans). The only examples I can think of off the top of my head are viva piniata and little big planet. Anyway, they are great games, but so are the titles like Half Life 2. Sure I'd like to see Rareware make a game like Banjo Kazooie or DK 4, but that is for the wii platform, which right now, is being abused. Too many sports games, not enough shooters for that perfect accessory, the wii zapper, not many good adventure games, too many gimmicky family games and too many accessories. Also, nintendo's latest decision to port old titles to the wii spotlighted the fact that nobody has any new ideas. The innovative ones are minimalised for thick person compatibility, the rubbish ones are milked, the ones that seem good slap you in the face later when it all falls to pieces to make the game slightly longer and the bad ones are turned into sequals. Thats where fanboys come in. The reason why fanboys has not been classed as a sexist term is because only boys are moany enough to care. Being male and adolescent myself I have many of these traits, but the new games have even put me off those. Let's take for example our biggest backstabber, Sonic. Right until sonic heroes, sonic was great. I personally liked the early 3D sonic games that many people moan about. Sonic adventure was excellent, definately worth playing if you haven't already. The latest big Sonic title was Sonic & The Black Knight. As soon as I saw it was only on wii, I knew this was bad. From previous experience of course. That experience being Sonic & The Secret Rings. The controls were horrible, the storyline was so cheesy you'd have to have it with wine and biscuits, that song was horrible, (you must know which one I mean right?) and most of all, throwing the RPG element in there was just too complex considering it didn't really matter anyway how fast you could go or weather you could jump backwards or fart fire into enemies faces, it made no difference. So, if you bothered to read this, I am a nostalgia fan, but I used to drink beer, now I drink juice. It's still nice and if you leave it long enough to ferment it will be alcoholic and make you happy with it, but it's got no head and you drink it out of a straw. I'm glad to waste your time.
