Umm, another would be Mario Strikers. It was a Mario soccer game that my brother bought. I thought he was being an idiot, but it turned out to be quite fun.

With transvestites who try to kill them to teach them new powers? And we're gonna actually try and make the player, god forbid, FEEL something emotionally?!"

And it's one of the best games ever made.

Well the first game was good. But after that it became canon fanwank. It isn't even about the disney guys anymore.

Don't you speak ill about Kingdom Hearts 2.

That one was my favorite and one of my all time favorite games.

KH 1 & 2 were good. utterly GOLDEN gameplay wise story was... japanese. since it is not cave story, that means "bad".

but yes he is right one and two are islands of awesome in an ocean vomit.



now... CAVE STORY. yes. robot who doesnt know he is a robot saves rabbit creatures from an evil doctor.

fairly decent game. great soundtrack. best video game story ever written.

I'll have to say kingdom hearts as well, when I first saw the trailer for it these were my exact thoughts: "so you play some goofy looking kid in giant clown shoes who go around with Donald and Goofy while he bashes people in the head with a giant key, I'm never ever going to give this a chance."

Luckily a friend had it and forced me to try it out when I visited once, and I'm glad he did, it's one of my favorite PS2 titles now.

Huh? 358/2 was slightly closer to the first one than the second one was, in terms of combat. Didn't you say before that the first one was good? I'm confused.

Plus, he gets to spit fire from eating a flower, grows when he eats a mushroom and becomes an epilepsy inducer when he touches a star with eyes.

Honestly when I first heard about Left 4 Dead 1 coming out I was like "that's dumb...SPECIAL zombies? Only normal zombies are cool. That game will crash and BUUUUUURN." I was totally wrong...that's now one of my favorite games EVER.

I still think that Left 4 Dead 2 is WAAAY better, solely because of meelee weapons.

How about Guitar Hero? I definitely thought that the idea of playing with some dumb plastic guitar would fail. There is like ten of the guitar hero games now, plus the Rock Band games as well.

Also, and feel free to disagree with me on this, the lego games. Who would have thought that movie games like star wars or indiana jones would be able to translate so well into lego?

Eternal Sonata and Grandia 3. The dialogue was barely tolerable in both and why would developers think we would want to play a game about an emo composer? But so long as you ignored the characters both worked out awesome.

Thinking about it, most of the biggest series in gaming are based on either bad or drug induced ideas. A plumber that saves a princess from a giant turtle dragon thing uses mushrooms? A super sonic hedgehog that is trying to save woodland creatures from a fat scientist? An action series starring a mute scientist that beats things to death with a CROWBAR? Do any of these sound good in the slightest?

Well Mario has the ideas of a basic 2D platformer. Half-Life (which I hope is what you are talking about or else you're playing a very similar game) has probably the worst idea on paper but some of the most amusing moments I've ever encountered in a game.

Half Life borrowed elements from George Orwell's 1984 novel. People who loved half live generally liked 1984 as well.

Even though I hate these games guts, maybe Halo and MW2, both riddled with cliche stories but done in a compelling way.


Either them or InFamous, pretty crap story but Sucker Punch developed it and extended it well I over looked it abit.
