"The Impossible Game" on the Xbox 360 community games section. I bought it a few days ago, and have already given up on it :p

Call of Duty WaW, I had a fear of grenades after playing that game, so I went threw on easy, just because I was so terrified, never before that had I quit a game, and go to easy. Also, I gave up on Ninja Gaiden 2, I was on some level which had blood raining from the sky. Said fuck this, an gave up.

Metroid Prime 2.

I aced Metroid Prime (after starting Prime 2, funnily enough) but I can't get past the God damn Boost Ball Guardian. That fucker is a thorn in my side, so apparently I just don't play it anymore.

There are some others too... they may come to me with time. Or a glance at my game collection.

I wasn't very good at Supreme Commander either.
Oh I hated that bastard. Died to him thrice before figuring out his gimmick.
Wasn't enough to stop me though. Emperor Ing (the end boss) is far, far, FAR worse than most bosses in Prime 2 (which are actually pretty awesome for the most part, besides Boost Ball).

OT: Hmm. X3 Terran Conflict.
The difficulty in locating anything in that game made it a colossal pain in the ass.

Normal Mode or higher on Subterranean Animism and Undefined Fantastic Object. Easy modes are somewhat challenging (about on par with Normal difficulty of every previous game), but every difficulty above is pretty ruthless around Stage 4/Stage 5. Mostly because this is when the bullets are fastest and densest. They really try their best to disallow you from unlocking the EX Stage.

Their way of gaining lives is also a reason for being so hard. In SA, for every boss pattern you clear, you get 1/5 of a life. In UFO, it's even more difficult. You have to summon Red UFOs and destroy them, but it's best you let them suck up all the power and point items. Destroying a Red UFO grants you 1/4 of a life and filling one grants you 1/4. So if you fill one and destroy, that is half a life. Destroying a Green UFO grants 1/3 of a bomb and filling one grants a whole bomb. So fill then destroy nets 1 and 1/3 of a bomb.

That's not to say I've given up forever, I do plan to come back once I've 1CC'd Mountain of Faith on Normal, which is a much, much easier game.

I'm sad to see so many had quit on DA:O because of it's admittedly flawed combat.

Seriously, it's a great story. Finish it, guys!

OT: Advance Wars. I have a unit from it as my avatar....but I never finished it.

Ocarina of Time, that fucking Water Temple, eventually completed it the day internet walkthroughs were invented.

And I've never completed a Resident Evil game because as a kid I was just too stupid to make it through, and haven't replayed them as the controls piss me off.

Also every racing game ever, I suck hard at them, I spend every lap in first place then crash into a wall in the final 2 seconds, instant rage quit.

Vanquish - Sliding around got tedious after, and there's only so many bullets I can dodge.

Gears of War 1 - Cannot beat General RAAM on insane, no matter how many times I try.

Guitar Hero 3 - Last boss cheats.

God of War 2 - Any difficulty beyond normal was borderline annoying or impossible.

Call of Duty: World at War - Gave up on Heart of the Reich. Enemies throw grenades at every possible point you can run to, ensuring instant death, no matter what.

Deathsmiles - No way in hell I could beat that game without dying. One would have to be superbly skilled at bullet hell games to do that.

LoZ: Ocarina of Time - Could not get past the Forest Temple after six hours. Never again would I play another Zelda game.

Dragon Age: Origins, Amnesia, TF2, Mount and Blade. These are all the recent ones.
In Mount and Balde you kind of have to just start out by recruiting as many people as possible and fighting large groups of Bandits, then you move up to raiding villages or attacking Lords parties and then you start taking over Castles and town and such.
...And you may want to set everything to Easy.

Dwarf Fortress, I couldn't even find out how to give Dwarves specific orders...

The Last Remnant. Having no direct control over your units makes it hard to beat bosses that are deliberately unbalanced.
Oddly enough, I pretty much mastered Last Remnant's battle system. Its a grid based tactical battle system, and later in the game when your characters are more defined and you get to know them better, you can basically tell exactly whats going to happen and when.
It just sucks early game. Alot.

As for me. Disgaea 3. I just can't deal with it. I'm not training my characters to lvl 9999. fuck that.

Final fantasy X. Why? I didn't like the game very much.... I grew sick of it at the end, when you're in sin. I then started to skip every single monster and still annihilated that queer ass wimp Seymour. Then I kept skipping monsters untill I came to the final boss. The whole game was too easy up till now (except yunalesca), so I thought I could kill him easy. I was wrong. He could attack twice each turn, almost killing me each time. As soon as I killed those pagodas, they started spinning again immediately the next turn. I stood no chance and kept dying in no time, 3 times. Not wanting to grind, I gave up on that damn game.

Beyond this, I haven't given up on games due to them being too hard since I was little. Difficulty only motivates me more, sometimes to the point of obsession.

Oh wait no I got one: FUCKING POKEMON STADIUM! DAMN that was frustrating, that game cheated so ludictoursly shamelessly. God. It was so frustrating, all of your attacks miss, all of the computer's attack hit, and very often crit and/or flinch too. Oh my god did that game make me angry, how was that supposed to be fun? It's such blatant scheme to make us play the game longer. Just crank up the crit/miss ratio to vastly favor the computer. Whooo! So challenging! We were little kids! Have some fucking mercy gamefreak!

Persona 3, Nyx is one cheap-ass ************!
Meh, you didn't miss much, as much as I respect the developer, the ending is pretty lame.
It's such typical anime trite, the main characters say cringe-inducing variations of "I WILL NEVER GIVE UP!" and after giving up, they defeat the final boss solely with the power of friendship. I have yet to play Persona 4, I hope it's not the same there.
