I remember when I was a teenager, I saw an advertisement for both Secret of Mana and Secret of Evermore. Nowadays, you'll be lucky if anything but the big budget games are ever advertised. However, I don't play many new games, as I pretty much despise most of the crap that's brought out. I'm one of those people who loves to dream of a time when Working Designs was still producing games. Then again, I only normally play RPGs, with a few games like Armored Core, Duke Nukem, Killer Instinct and Marvel vs Capcom being by reprieve from RPGs.
(Captcha: principle shastio. Something tells me I don't want to meet that principle...)
Well in Australia they only show after 10pm. Some classification crap or something.
But I've recently seen Dead Space 2, Homefront and some other game recently. Also DS games get ads a bit.
Well, it all depends what channels you watch. Over the last couple of years I've seen ads on TV for Guitar Hero, Rock Band, Modern Warfare 2, Black Ops (Which was played to death. Ugh), WoW Cataclysm, Bioshock 2, The new Gretzky game for the Wii, Madden, All the PS3 ads featuring Kevin Butler, Bullettorm (I think), Tiger Woods Golf, and a bunch of other games.
Recent ones I can think of are the constant Nintendo ads with various "celebs", some of which aren't too terrible. And before that FF XIII had a ton of ads. I'm sure I've forgotten some.
I did watch a movie "sponsored by Killzone 3" the other week though. Fortunately it was on Sky+, so I skipped most of them
