I can only think of one that I hate intensely: Leonard, the male lead from White Knight Chronicles. You see, I rented that game after my brother bought a PS3, to see if there were any games on it worth getting. When I first started up the game and saw that it had a character creation system, I thought, "Great, maybe a JRPG with some player agency, for once." This is not the case, for in fact your avatar has no dialogue whatsoever, is not in any of the cutscenes (or at least, not that I can remember), and at one point early on in the game the group is separated, and you are forced to play as Leonard while he fights his way through the dungeon to lead the princess to safety. I was very disappointed, to be sure, but what really sealed my hatred for this guy was the bland, utterly predictable nature of his character, for in that dungeon there is a cutscene where the princess asks why he's saving her, and he shyly admits he cares about her, cueing a flashback to this one time when they briefly met about 10 years ago. No, you sad bastard, relationships don't work that way. Besides, Legend of Zelda beat them to that whole "young hero meets young princess" thing, and in my opinion they did it much better, since it did not feature 10 year olds falling in love with each other.
Also, perhaps Wakka from Okami, since I knew a cute girl in high school who had a crush on him and wouldn't shut the hell up about it, either. Damn French-Japanese Tao masters...
