Well, Myst didn't have many characters, none of them particularly freaky, but the game still scared the bejeesus out of me. It was just so empty, and all the sudden noises freaked me out. I swear the ship level caused my irrational fear of klaxon alarm sounds.
With you on that one.

the spaniard (forgot his name) from RE4, cuz everything he does seems to have some sexual connotation.
Sex is scary?
no, but the innuendo is somewhat unsettling, especially when the cutscenes feature about 5-seconds of the camera gloriously showcasing his crotch.
Oh but it's such a nice crotch! :D

What's creepier is how he's flirting wiht Ashley, who appears to be around 14. Although she does try to get into leon's pants... oh girls and thier older men...

The second boss room from Super Metroid (Metroid 3).

The boss itself was a mindless swinging spiky mouth that could only get hurt by getting shot whenever it opened up. The music was probably the worst part, but it didnt help that the monster only swung faster, kept itself open for shorter amounts of time, and changed color towards red more and more as it got damaged.

Interestingly, its the only boss in the game that is the most easy to face and never lose a single hitpoint the whole time since its one simple scripted event. I still could never battle the monster, i always had my dad take him on. Today its nothing though, ive beaten the game twice on my computer emulator now and the fear is gone.

Ganon from Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past wasnt very nice either.

As far as one coming to life, out of the TV, id have to say Solid Snake. The second he noticed someone saw him, aka me, he would either snap my neck 50 times or kick me down and shoot me dead in fear of me giving away his positionm. LOL! Or maybe thats just how I PLAY! Well guess whos playing when he comes to life..gahh.

When I first started playing the Resident Evil series I was terrified of the zombies and even more of Nemesis. I would have to play the game with the sound muted so I couldn't hear the zombies moan in the backround. x-D

Walter Sullivan from Silent Hill: The Room. Whenever I hear his crazed giggles in the distance I almost piss myself. I like his character and I feel sorry for him but why does he have to chase me with a chainsaw and a hand gun? Why?

I jumped and hit my knee against the desk when my cousin's 800 x 600 monitor revealed the ghastly sight of The Butcher [http://diablo.wikia.com/wiki/The_Butcher] in his full 256 colored sprite glory back in '96.

The Pig Men in Shadow Man used to give me nightmares.

I can't say any of the Tales characters really scared me, but then I've only played Legendia and Vesperia, and all the baddies in there I felt sorry for because of their "only I (we in the case of Legendia) can remake the world as it should be" attitude. The only real bad guy that ever really scared me was Sephiroth, simply because of how powerful he was and how insane he went.

B gears they can go invisible so fighting them is like Dragon Ball Z.
They are also a very broken class or a skill and level based game.
You never see them coming and you going Boom with out notice would start the fear in you.
I don't say its much of the thrill fear more of like, B-gear Run! type of thing.
