The guy doest remember a post he made 5 months ago. Sorry we all dont keep track of every single post we have made.
Fair enough, I wasn't really looking to call the calvary out, just found it strange the thread titles were so incredibly similar and such. I have no problem with DrDeath3191, I just get touchy because I don't make many threads, and thought that one was one of the few unique and interesting ones I had made. It's not like I can prove anything anyways, it's the internet. Thanks for interjecting, however. My sincere apologies.

O god I was pathetic when it came to Pokemon red/blue myths

One of htem was the "mist stone" which I was told by friends could be found in a random water tile in the game, I think I spent a full week exploring every single square tile of water in that dam game and almost cried when nothing

Of course the Mew underneath that truck

Finding Pikablu

In other games

In halo i was told that if you waited on the bridge on the pillar of autumn long enough you'd smash into halo, i sat there like 3 hours watching the dam thing

I got tricked by that "Sonic and Tails in Super Smash Bros Melee" thing. Me and my brother spent hours trying to get enough kills in cruel melee.

I never heard about the mew under the truck, just that the truck existed. And it does! The rumor going around for me was that if you held down and A when you were trying to catch a pokemon then they'd have a higher chance of staying the pokeball. I held those buttons with all my might. Turns out that button presses can alter the chances of catching a pokemon, but you have to have split second timing. My technique never worked, but I damn well thought it did.

Also, I knew a kid who claimed, among other things, that you could play as Sheik on Ocarina of Time. Little liar.

I'm surprised that this hasn't come up yet...might have to do with the general JRPG hate, but...

I definitely spent a very long time trying to find out how to resurrect Aeris. Even when I figured it must be false, I just couldn't bear to see her go.

Uggh, my God, me and a friend did this accidently once, and couldnt repeat it for ages, it was hard work to do.

In Anothre of the "Super Smash" Series, someone made up a thing tht if you cna make it too over 999% without going off the screen, you become invinsible... damn thing didnt work, took us a while too.

You're going to call a hill? Calvary=A hill outside ancient Jerusalem where Jesus was crucified. Cavalry=Horse riding soldiers. Sorry couldn't resist my grammar Nazi tendencies.

Anyway, your thread is so old, it'd be considered necroing which is sorta frowned upon, so don't be too hard on him for remaking an old topic.

I think another big one was the secret cow level in the original Diablo. Blizzard threw us a bone in the sequel and referenced it in Warcraft

I actually never heard that... what was the supposed process?

This is the one that immediately sprang to mind for me - I can't believe there were 30 posts before it was mentioned. She was one of the best characters as well... We were all robbed :'(

I'm sure there were loads of rumours on how to do it.
Here's one:

1. ITEMS

First of all there are items you will need to successfully get Aeris back, these are as follow:

PC or PlayStation version of Final Fantasy VII
4 Tissues (get by losing in the Battle Arena)
Buster Sword (for it's association woth Aeris)
1 Mastered Revive Materia

2. RESURRECT

Not many people know that the Revive materia can be levelled up past 3 stars. There is a secret 4th star which holds an ability named resurrect. To get this ability, you must earn somewhere between 800,000 and 1,500,000 AP. There is a catch though. You MUST have the Buster Sword equipped and the Revive materia fastened to it before you can gain AP for it.

3. GETTING AP

This is the long part but believe me it is worth it!!! Go to a place where enemies give a lot of AP. Examples are the Gelnika, Mideel Beach and The North Crater. I would recommend the North Crater. Once you get to the bit where your party splits up, go left and then up. Go to the right of the screen and get into a fight. 7 out of 10 times you will be up against a small pot with a purple creature inside it. Use the W-Item trick to get loads of elixirs and give it one. When you kill it (they aren't very hard) you should get 1000 AP for it, do NOT be tempted to use a double or triple growth weapon to up your AP because the Revive materia will not gain AP unless it is on the Buster Sword. Magic Pots can come singly, in 2s and in 3s. This means there can be upto 3000 AP up for grabs just for one fight!

4. AERIS'S HOUSE

Now you have the Resurrect ability, visit Aeris's House in Sector 5 of Midgar. Go into her room (the one on the right) and use the 4 tissues. Cloud should break down and shout "Why did you have to die?". Cloud will then go outside and tell the others his desire to bring back Aeris. The will be doubtful at first but will eventually agree.

5. FLOWERS BLOOMING IN THE CHURCH

Once Cloud has regained his composure, go to the Church in sector 4. Make sure Cait Sith is in your party, then talk to the kid on the right. She will want to play with Cait Sith (seeing as he is a cat!) and they will all go outside. Aeris's spirit should appear in the flowers telling you about the Resurrect Spell and to go to the Forgotten City. This is your next destination.

6. THE CRYSTAL PEDESTAL

Remember the waterfall where you saw Aeris pray for Holy? This is where you Cloud will perform the resurrect spell. Go up to the Pedestal and press the OK button. Cloud will put the materia on the altar then kneel and pray. The materia shoudl become an extremely bright orb of light and then shatter into a million pieces. Aeris's spirit will now tell you to return to the Church.

7. REUNITED

Now that you have performed the Resurrect Spell, when you see Aeris's ghost in the Church, it should become solid. At this moment Aeris will say "Don't worry Cloud, it really is me. Maybe now we can do all those things we never finished first time around." And there you have it, Aeris is back! Now you can take her on the Highwind just like you promised!

I heard just about every one of the original pokemon ones as well. It all worked out okay for me though, I ended up gamesharking for my Mew XD

I heard the B button if rapidly tapped helped, or if you held down both bumpers (for advanced) and released them just as the ball hit the ground it was a 100% chance of catching them, never worked.

That you could obtain the Triforce in Ocarina Of Time I tried for so many hours following a guide someone made. I believed them because it had images and it was before I knew about Photoshop.

I remember a couple of old Pokemon ones. The one that I heard the most actually involved "Oak's Garden." Basically, it was that you could access the grass areas around Palet Town that are normally walled off. I think the myth of how you did it was that you got the certificate for catching all 150 and then showed it to Prof. Oak.
I also recall a make Taki fight nude in Soul Calibur hack that I never actually found a supposed way to do.
Also, I recall there being a rumor of a way to save Aeris from dying in FF7. Don't quite remember the specifics though.

I also vaguely recall this really weird one where you could make two characters have sex in Grand Theft Auto San Andreas.

I tricked my brother into believing (for several years) that after you beat Ganon in OOT the light sage wants the mastersword back and fights you using a motorcycle and a pair uzi's...
