Not really, what made everyone fat was continuing to eat the high calorie foods like burgers that where made so that people building houses and working on farms could have all the energy they needed.

Now we eat all the same foods but the life style has changed completely.
Not true, you can eat all the calories you want, if you exercise you really won't get fat.

I stay inside most of the time, play games, rarely go out (because there isn't much to do) and I'm not overweight at all.

Maybe that's all the sex though...

No, videogames dont make you fat. it all depends on the person, and their choices and willingness. I play video games quite a lot but i still exercise, eat well and go out with my mates. But yeah, its impossible to not gain weight playing videogames, because u dont move!

Somehow that doesn't surprise me. I'm 6'2" and weigh 250lbs and I spend most of my day either laying down or sitting in a chair playing videogames/watching TV.

I play games/sit in front of computer/watch TV for most of my time at home. I'm always being told I'm underweight. I think it is these activities combined with unhealthy food that really harms people's waist size/

The very first line of my original post was, "More specifically, sitting in front of a computer/television screen all day makes you fat."

So after reading the responses that many of you posted, I have to wonder if most of you actually read my original post. If you did, you probably would've correctly guessed that I was only joking.

I am just like you (or how you claim to be). I sit in front of screens all day, often while eating unhealthy foods, yet I am not at all overweight. I could be healthier and more physically fit, I just lack the motivation to do anything about it. I was just annoyed by a recent article I read, so I thought I would satirize it and the hundreds of similar articles out there in the internets. Just sitting still won't contribute to the amount of fat in your body. But if you eat unhealthy and don't do shit about counter-measuring it like a balance, than you might get fat.

In fact, if you sit still, you DO indeed burn fat. At least, that's what I am taught in school.

What's the upside?
You're training your brain capacity by doing these "anti-social" activities.
True, by simply being alive you are in fact burning calories. But don't you think you'd burn them faster by moving more appendages than just your thumbs? And what exactly are you training your brain for? I'm confuse.
I can imagine quote messages will come back at you in giant loads (to think of all those account names), so I won't spoil this quote to annoyance.

About the "very first line of your original post", if I knew of that link, I'd have gotten the joke.
A bit.
Sort of.
Maybe.
(Because those blue link letters make me laugh so hard hah-ha)
But else, I didn't have a greater chance of knowing it :/

Also, I don't know either what the brain is actually trained in. I just heard it from another thread that games increases your intelligence.
However, they failed, like me, to mention the specific area/s of the brain. Even the link they had.

Happy quote responding to the others. I know it'll take awhile :D

Fine then! More oxygen for me!
I might sound crazy, but one day you'll see. YOU'LL ALL SEE!

It's not playing the videogames that makes you fat, its what you do while playing that makes you fat, eating Mc Donalds while screaming at the 13 year olds online is not good for your weight (or social life).

sitting on your ass makes you fat, some wii games tend to make you look stupid (not that stupid), ddr will make you look stupid but it will be a good time and you will loose about 20 lbs in 1 month if you do it on hard mode every day until you get it right
