I wouldn't cast Green Goblin either, and he's arguably in 4 of the 5 Spidey movies.
Yeah, true. I guess I was being charitable.

At least it's not 5/5.

Is a Sinister Six movie completely out of the question at this point? Weren't they hinting at one by the end of the last movie?
Well, they announced one, but it was tied to the Amazing line and it seems they're scrapping that to work with the MCU deal.

No love for Kraven the Hunter?
I like Kraven, but he's not my choice for first major villain.

I'd like an introduction of Eddie Brock, and an end that hints at the symbiote, in regards to Venom, so that we don't just have "LOOK VENOM", which is part of what I think killed Venom's arc (non-arc) in the execrable SM3.

As for villains, I'd like a bunch of lesser villains or one-offs here and there (Humbug, Frog-Man, Paste-Pot Pete, I'm looking at you), essentially showing that Spidey's already got the swing (pun intended) of things down; then lead to the Tinker as the main villain.

Maybe establish Black Cat, and have her be part of the moral conflict arc that seems to be ingrained into the Black Suit now, in the next movie.

Barring that, I'd like a team-up of villains wrecking SM's profile; like Chameleon and Mysterio joining forces.

If it has to be one villain, though, my vote's for Scorpion; a character literally created to take down SM, funded by JJJ himself (though likely not in the movie version, possibly an attempt to recreate the Super Soldier Serum by AIM or Hydra).

Or, fuck it. The Jackal. Set up the Clone Saga now, so it isn't a surprise in 3 movies.
I really do hope they decide to set up Venom, rather than just going "so...Venom?"

One of the things I liked with Amazing Spider-Man 2 was that Rhino's first appearance was done as "another day in the life of the Amazing Spider-Man."

Of course, they then pissed me off with the follow-up.

I actually like the idea of showing Spider-Man beating some "easy" villains. It could even be interesting to see what happens when Spider-Man does fight someone more on his level, maybe even getting defeated (a la his first major defeat at the hands of Doctor Octopus). Hell, he could even get a pep talk from Captain America. I hear he and Human Torch are pretty similar....

What would be the best thing about Spidey in MCU is honestly not just Spidey himself but also having Norman Osbourne introduced to the MCU at large. Dude is a big villain on the world stage and is hella important IMO.
So not having Osbourne brought over is a disservice to the wider MCU villain pool. I really want to see a version of his Avengers crossover on the big screen... it'd be interesting.

Scorpion.

Can't think of a good speech for him like OP's Shocker idea at the moment. Probably some kind of offer about how they're both predators shunned by society now, so they should start preying on normal people because they're inferior flies. Too Willem Dafoe Green Goblin-ish maybe?
Similar to shocker only with more self loathing? "Thanks to you I'm a murdering freak" etc. etc.

Agreed on the venom points. One of the more well known spidey villains (next to green goblin of course) but Venom REALLY needs build up, even more so than Lizard.

If anyone says anything but Carnage, their instantly wrong... just saying. We need a cooler Venom too. Actually just focus on the Symbiotes, fuck everyone else.
Kraven is the best Spider-Man movie and would work very well in the movies and the MCU as a whole. They should save Venom and Carnage for one of the sequels.

Dr. Octopus, maybe? It'll be tough to top Alfred Molina, but at least he hasn't been overdone like Goblin has.

It's kind of a long shot, but I'd say Norman Osborn. Yes, the Green Goblin. Again.

Assuming they don't just kill him off at the end of whatever movie he's in, I think he has a lot of potential. IIRC, in the comics his Norman persona is into politics. Doesn't he even become president at some point? To Spider-Man he's the classic glider-flying maniac, but to the Avengers as a whole, he could become a problem that can't just be punched in the face.

Maybe build up to the Siege storyline after Thanos? Probably not, but it's an idea.
