So, what sort of villains do you know from forms of media (Games, movies, cartoons, or whatever) that you root for and hope would win?

I'm abit of a Bowser fan, so sometimes (okay, actually most of the time) I enjoy the thought of Bowser winning a fight with Mario, even enjoyed the suppost-to-lose fight with Bowser you get in the start of Paper Mario.

Also in the show called Codename: Kids Next Door, I don't know why, but I couldn't resist rooting for King Sandy, if you know the guy. I really don't know why I do so, but then, I always thought that personality wise, almost all the KND characters are well-rounded and relatable.

Another villain I often feel like rooting for is Buggy The Clown from One Piece, everyone he fights (even Luffy), I sometimes like to imagine him winning against. Buggy is sometimes a jerk, but at least he's the fun kind of jerk.

The one where the hero is annoying, or the villian is obviously better and doesnt win only because hes supposed to lose. Like Slade in Teen Titans (cartoon) and Sesshomaru from Inuyasha.
(First examples that came to mind, though neither show do I watch intentionally anymore)

I always root for the villian.
Not because I don't like the protagonist or if I like the antagonist. I do it because we're supposed to root for the good guys.
Fight the Power.

Every villain ever made? Except for the dumb ones of course. Oh, and when the protagonist is a very cool antagonist that puts the villain to shame.

I wanted Lucifer to win.

I also thought that Morgoth was completely maligned. The guy only wanted to create, but would Iluvatar let him? No.

Oh, Slade from Teen Titans is an excellent choice. His episodes were gems in an otherewise fairly mediocre cartoon. Ron Perlman FTW.

I've got a soft spot for Harley Quinn, and I love Captain Hook. I wanted General Grievous to crush that Jedi scum.

As far as webcomics go, I want Klaus Wulfenbach to triumph, but he's a very sympathetic villain.

Dr. Robotnik, his ineptness not to just shoot Sonic in the face infuriates me, but I still like the guy. Especially when he petted my Chao. :) "YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOSH"

Hazama is pretty much the biggest douchebag on the planet. His sole purpose in life is to make anyone and everyone without a Y chromosome cry. Nearly every conversation he has with any female in Blazblue ends with them having a mental breakdown and bawling in the streets.

He doesn't just fuck with girls though. He fucks with all the men too but in a more direct, beat the living shit out of you, kind of way.

He also has pretty much the most epic evil laugh ever. Less so in the cutscenes and more so in actual gameplay and storymode coversation trees.

Oh and you know how he fights? He shoots evil snakes at you, uses them like a hookshot, then claws you to death with the many blades he hides up his sleeves.

He's a total douchebag but he's so interesting to watch.

I root for the villain only if the hero is an annoying, whiney ***** and or an idiot. Then I want to see them die by the hands of the villain.

L wasn't really the villain. He was the antagonist but Light was still the villain.

OT: In Blazblue Calamity Trigger, Hakumen was sort of a villain and I rooted for him. I also rooted for the first Greed in Full Metal Alchemist, I felt like I could identify with him.

Games:
-Gannondorf. We all know that in some point of the Zelda timeline, he comes back, there's no Link, and in the end , Hyrule sinks into the sea. I want to play that game.
Comics:
-The Hulk. I'm copping out here, but in my defense, for all comic nerds out there, WWH.
-Bullseye. I just like this guy. IDK why.

-I'm using this as a loophole! (both Buggy and Crocodile)
-Also, by all means, L WAS the "villian" (here is the prime example that antagonist=/= villian), so I rooted for him.
Movies:
-The dude from "Law Abiding Citizen". An ok movie, but the villian was the showstealer here. The only downside is that his IQ seems to drop several points at the final act.
-The humans from Avatar. Just because it would have made the ending funny.
Also, for generality:
Any time the villian is a manipulative evil genuis (see movie choice)
Any time the villian is more interesting than the hero.(Translation: the hero annoys me.)

I always was under the impression L was the protagonist.
I rooted for him based off his character though.

Hakumen wasn't a villian. The only real villain wasn't playable in CT. I mean you could call V-13 a villain if you really wanted to but that's a tad off too. Hazama/Terumi is the real villian, also who I mentioned in this thread, and he's not playable til CS. Also there's Relius Clover now so the game's cast of villains has expanded.

But Hakumen? He's one of the six heroes, not a villain. He's one of the good ones too. Him and Jubei are tight.
