The rumors were true, a couple of them anyway.

Anyhow.
Well, I have an open mind, and by open mind I mean pretty much no opinion. I haven't been exposed enough to either actor to really form an opinion on how they might do but from what little I know about Vaughn, I understand people's... uneasiness... with having him for a role in a dark, serious crime drama. But I'm going to think positive here and assume it's going to be good, I liked Season 1 so either way I'm excited for Season 2.
What do you think?

The internet doesn't seem to happy about it.The news comes via press release, and details both actors' roles. Farrell will play Ray Velcoro, a "compromised detective" caught between his bosses and the mob. Vaughn will play Frank Semyon, a career criminal about to lose his empire after the death of a business partner. Director Justin Lin, known for his work in the The Fast and The Furious franchise, is slated to direct the first two episode in the new run. There's still no word, however, on the new season's female lead.

HBO confirms Colin Farrell & Vince Vaughn will do their best cut-rate imitations of McConaughey & Harrelson in season 2 of #TrueDetective.

That thought that last one was funny.True Detective is going to be an hour of Vince Vaughn trying to "hug it out" with suspects while Colin Farrell tries to bang widows.
