Just redicovered how nice vinyl records sound. Been rocking to Bowie, Queen, Clash and The Creatures all morning!

Anyone else here have a fondness for this format?

My dad has a bit over 600 here at home and we listen almost every day to one of them, really nice to listen to old bands and the talent from the 80s

I like the sound very much, but I don't have a record player. I can make a similar effect by playing music through Vent, though, even though it's a poor substitute. I just like the feel of that sound, and it suits a lot of the music I listen to. I have a few records of the albums I really love just for the covers as well.

Oh hells yeah, music always sounds better on vinyl. Especially classical music, and of course, Led Zep...

It's a shame it's such an un-weildly format. I really really hope the vinyl trade doesn't end however. Once you've heard a classic album on vinyl you'll notice how poor the cd versions actually sound.

IF I have the chance I always prefer to have records on vinyl. Its a whole other feeling than CD. And also, of course the awesome sound quality. Im happy to se that other people also enjoys this!

Whats everyones favourite vinyl?

Mine has to be either, OMD - Enola Gay or Queen - Hammer to Fall.

as a dj i have to point out that only older music 'sounds better' on vinyl when compared to cd or itunes variants. Modern music sounds 'warmer' on vinyl but will sound 'sharper' on 320 kbps MP3s.

My dad had a bunch of the Doobie Brothers and Three Dog Night albums on vinyl. I have only really listened to vinyl once, but I don't remember how good the sound was. Generally I listen to music on the computer or iPod now. It's more convenient than a CD player and I have literally over a month of music on my iPod now.

And I'm not sure if the kinds of metal I listen to would really be suited for the vinyl format.

I'm actually really interested in buying a record player and collecting vinyls-- only thing I'm concerned about is not being able to find the music I want. I'm not so interested in the sort of classic rock and stuff that would have been originally recorded on vinyl, but if I can find an After Forever album on vinyl I'll be totally hooked.

OMG OMG! I just got my mom's old vinyl record player and I went out to get records for it. This one place where I live had a near mint condition of Supertramp's Breakfast in America for $0.50. I shat a brick that day.

Oh and yeah, I love vinyls.

I have some Happy Hardcore records, but that's it. Just started collecting like a month ago but I have to have them shipped from the UK.

Favorite one I own so far is Bust/Rippin by Gammer.

My friends dad has a mint condition KISS destroyer record. To be honest that would fetch a pretty penny to a collector.

Seeing as most of the music I own is techno or one of it's descendants I have a lot of vinyl.
