I believe that games like Manhunt shouldn't be available to 10-year-olds but anything with killing of an image of a human being? I mean come on you would have to be eighteen to play Super Smash Bros (I consider kicking someone off a giant cliff killing).

What do you think?

Um...I suggest you change the title of this thread, it's misleading, as a law banning the sale of violent games to minors was struck down as unconstitutional. Also, you should probably give your opinion rather than just asking for ours.

I think it's a good thing that the courts are actually willing to uphold the first amendment.

Well I personally think that banning the sale of violent videogames to Minors, Minors under 10 anyway is a good idea and should be done. How that is unconstitutional but not allowing gay marrige somehow is, is mind boggling.

Free speech is expressly allowed by the constitution. Gay marriage isn't addressed either way.

Your title is misleading as the article is about a THWARTED attempt to place a RESTRICTION of the sale of violent video games to MINORS.

So I must conclude that you have either not read the article or are looking for hits.
Congratulations.

I didn't see the first paragraph. The title has been changed.

Booyah! Down with censorship! The financial crisis is bad enough. The state budget problems are only making it worse, and this just makes THAT worse. Wasted tax payer money. Yee and his crusaders are hurting the children more then helping. Think about how much the schools would be helped if that money was not wasted?

I hate it when games get unbaned!

... What does 'baning' a game even mean?

You cannot tell me that if contra was recreated with todays technology that it would not receive a Mature rating.
Contra: Shattered Soldier - ESRB: Teen (Animated Blood, Violence)
Neo Contra - ESRB: Mature (Blood and Gore, Violence)

I doubt Shattered Soldier would get more than T, no matter how many more polygons it had.

It's interesting that with computer graphics, graphical fidelity varies so much that it could affect the ratings. A game where enemies' heads explode could conceivably get a T rating in low effects and 320x240 resolution, M rating in full HD with all effects maxed out. If the computers at time of launch can only handle the low settings and resolution, what then?

Wouldn't GM fall under things like freedom of expression? Freedom of choice perhaps? It isn't like thier marriages really affect anyone or anything. They will still be gay.

Doesn't surprise me. California's governor has killed thousands of people through the wonderful vision of media.
