My Avast keeps giving me a "threat has been detected" notice whenever I come on the Escapist. I'm not a very knowledgeable guy when it comes to these kind of things, but is the Escapist trying to install something on my computer? I really have no idea. Thanks.

It must be the red button! It must be purged!

OT: I dunno, it might just be your anti-virus playing up because I have no threats being detected.

I've seen several threads about this, but my Avast has done no such thing all day long. Just run virus scans, and if need be reset your computer back a few days before it started happening.

That's been happening to everybody. Something to do with a Trojan piggy-backing the ads.

Do a regular virus sweep if you want to stick around, or you'll end up with a nasty one.

This is another case of Avast doing a bad job at updating their virus definitions. We've disabled the script that's triggering this for the time being, because it's annoying, but there was never anything bad inside it.

I'm not really bothered about having to scan my computer and such, I'm just concerned that the website is infected with something or is actually trying to install an add-on of some kind. It said it was something to do with a Google Chrome App.

I use Google Chrome and Avast and I've been on here all day, since yesterday now technically. I haven't seen anything. Was it ad related? I'm just curious at this point.
