Nope. I had a computer get fried once, though. Twice, actually.
Lightning is fun!
That happened to a friend of mine's computer. Part of the hard drive actually melted. It was priceless.
My Motherboard turned into a giant heap of plastic.
That is what I call Nature's Righteous Fury. And it is crazy nuts.
Yeah. Good thing I wasn't in town during said lightning storm.
EDIT: My friend's toaster actually exploded becuase of this storm.

Back when I was just a bumbling idiot (three years ago), I had a pretty bad problem with viruses. Then I became less of a bumbling idiot, and now the only problems with viruses I have are those of other people.

"My computer sucks!"

"Yes, your two gigs of RAM, dual-core two gigahertz processor, two-hundred gig hard drive, and relatively nice video card are just a heap of crap."

"Yeah!"

"It's not the computer that sucks, it's you. At internet, I'm sure."

"Well, I don't ever do anything on it except check my email and browse those free stuff websites."

"It's not the computer that sucks, it's you. At internet, I know."

I accidentally downloaded one of those fake spyware things which pretends that you have spyware on your computer and irritates you with badly-translated pop-ups. Then I downloaded Kaspersky, and it put a stop to all that nonsense.

£50 if I could see that.

The reason I lean toward console gaming is because of issues like this. Here's a tip, never lend you computer out to someone who accepts that fucking MSN virus!

Y'know, I think that they'd still be dumb enough to do that!

Most common problem I see is that. If people are not educated on the scams of the internet then they are easy targets for the spyware industry. Most of them are pretty easy to get rid of though.

I had a friend that thought that was an actual virus once. He started freaking out when I set it as his background while he wasn't looking.

Nope, I use an Xbo...oh, well, I still use NOD32, and go to sites I know are trustworthy.
I haven't had a single virus, though there have been things like "this porn site is trying to give you a virus. I suggest you leave, kind lad."

It wasn't so much a case of being uneducated, as it being late at the time, and me not being particularly cautious about what sites I was visiting.

There's something worse than virii. Forceful Adware. It closes your current internet session and makes 2-10 new internet sessions with the advertisement it's showing.

EDIT: But then I got Firefox and they all dissappeared. Mysterious.

I format my computer so often that viruses can't really get past the creature phase in my computer...

I used to get the odd virus but I like to think that I'm a little smarter now. Whenever I do get one, Norton usually picks it up quicksmart.

i use nod 32 and it works like a charm it keeps my pc virus free and lets me play games 2 (omg wtf rly yea it does)but seriously if you play games and your virus program is bitching get nod 32.
i also use Google chrome which is a new browser from Google and most virii don't do squat on that so cheers will send some people the Irish virus (just to determine the average IQ of my friends)

those of you who have viruses quit getting them from porn sites BURN!
Actually the only pornography sites that contain viruses are the really disgusting, fetish crazed ones that have hundreds of flashing ads. So if you get viruses from pornography, we learn something about your habits.
