Okay, so for a while I noticed when I record my voice is far softer than the actual game I'm playing. I know it's not anything to do with detecting it, because it even detected my knuckles popping one time. I've tried looking for an answer, and I've tried messing with the levels for recording and playback. If someone could please give me step by step instructions or a link, I'd appreciate it.

Also, it'd be helpful to mention that I don't actually have real speakers, my mic (a Plantronics .Audio 626 DSP) is the only thing I have for listening and recording, and my OS is Windows 7.

Have you tried recording your mic's audio with a separate program such as Audacity [http://audacity.sourceforge.net/]? It's the program that I use to record my Let's Plays, and I highly recommend it. You can turn your audio levels up, save the file, import it into your video editing software, and balance the game's audio accordingly. This method also allows you to fine tune your audio levels at specific points of the video.

Ya you should be recording these things separately so you can later adjust and cut anything that goes wrong.
Games and recording software often mess with each others settings so you can never really tell how things turn out until they are done.
