I am not worried much, all the games i am excited for are from franchises I trust.

Just got portal 2, it is fantastic. Played infamous 2 (havent bought it yet though) and it's also fantastic.

uncharted 3: this series went from average 3rd person shooter to game of the year so they seem to know how to push Nathan Drake's story in the right direction. Uncharted 2 was fantastic and uncharted 3 looks like it could be even better.

Arkham city: arkham asylum was an awesome game and they are doing new things in a similar but bigger and scarier setting with more elbow room and more baddies to fight and more characters to work with. Sounds damn good to me personally. Also, Hugo strange and two-face competing with the Joker and other villains for territory with batman and catwoman caught in the crossfire? Yes please!

AC revelations: this series has yet to disappoint me and as usual they make more and more improvements. It may still be Ezio but the setting is what I most looking forward to. The ACB multiplayer is fantastic (I still play it) and they are improving things (hopefully the stuff that made us mad) and adding new features which will be great; I am actually more excited for the new multiplayer than i am for single player.

Bioshock infinite: a new, hostile setting that flourishes with color (unlike the blue and brown of rapture) but yet still manages to be mysterious and intimidating for the player which will hopefully bring back the feeling of awe and wonder that the player felt when they first arrived in rapture.

Im concerned that Skyrim will blow due to the radiant quest system. Randomly generated quests dont sound like much fun. I can deal with everything else, I always go into Elder Scrolls game expecting a unique experience and not a hardcore role playing done by the book one, until now the games have always delivered. But I can see it in front of my eyes: 20 quests all given to me by random NPCs who use the exact same line of dialogue to make me go to dungeon X to get item Z. Lets hope it doesnt turn out that way.
You've got it wrong. Its not random quests, it's random parts of the quest. So, the dungeon you'll go to will be one you haven't been. Assassination quests will target people you've talked to before. The person whom you'll rescue from the fort will be different. the quest itself is scripted, the players and items and the location will change though, for replay value.

OT: I'm not concerned really, I know exactly how its going to play out. Skyrim isn't going to be as good as everyone thinks but its still going to be in my top 5 games and take a 100 hours of my life away. Batman is going to take many hours away from gliding and lining across the city, and is going to be very good. Assassin's creed revelation can be summed up by this quote made last year by an associate producer of AC:

"I don't think there's going to be an Assassin's Creed in 2011. I think we're going to let it breathe a bit and really focus on bringing something new and exciting for the next time around. This [Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood] is the end of Ezio's story. This is it."

Mass Effect 3 - I love the series and hopes it doesn't end up a disappointing conclusion :(
Deus Ex 3 - I hope I won't be dissapointed
Assassins Creed Revelations: I dunno ... Nah, fuck that! It'll kick ass!
Skyrim ... too much hype
Diablo 3 - 11 years of development ... I hope it doesn't pull a Duke Nukem Forever on us

I'm concerned that I have a horrible feeling they're gonna kill off Gat in Saints Row 3...
This is the guy that took on a whole group of motorcycle-riding, uzi-weilding Ronin by himself and won. Nothing could kill Gat short of a tactical nuclear strike at this point.
Yeah, I'm just saying...they're probably gonna have a building collapse on him, or have him go out in a blaze of gunfire against billions of other assholes or kaimikaze a skyscraper in an icecream truck or something...Just a worryment more than anything.

So far I haven't seen anything in Skyrim that convinces me that it's anything more than Oblivion with a better engine (not even anything that convinces me that it's Morrowind with a better engine) and that doesn't necessarily bode well.

What I think Skyrim needs in order to distinguish itself from Oblivion is better story telling and a rich world full of mature themes, maturely presented. It's almost cliche at this point, but I want the best parts of Oblivion combined with the best parts of Morrowind. Bethesda has dropped some hints to suggest this is the way they're going. But it's not much to go on and we won't know for sure until 11/11/11. While I have big dreams, Oblivion taught me to keep my expectations grounded. If Skyrim is just a better looking Oblivion, that's still a game I'm very excited about, not to mention the many improvements to systems that were broke as fuck in Oblivion.

Out of curiosity, what would Skyrim have to do to 'wow' you, Kahuna?

Basically, exactly what you said - the best parts of Oblivion and Morrowind. That and a good magic system :)

I may be jinxing Catherine by looking forward to it, since games I look forward to generally range from disappointing to just plain bad.

He might die, yeah. Personally, I won't mind him kicking the bucket, as long as he goes out fighting in typical over-the-top style. If they give him a pussy death, then that's not cool with me. Going out fighting against guys in fighter gunships on the other hand? Yeah, I'm perfectly okay with that.

I'm worried that Saints Row 3 will be TOO over the top and not make an interesting story like the last.

I'm nervous for Unchrated 3. I really want to like it, but they have a lot to live up to from the second one, and I swear if they broke Nate and Elena up again, someone at Naughty Dog will be recieving some angry letters.

This is Mark Hamill's final performance as the Joker, it'd be an irritating waste if they didn't have him put in a big show.
That's a good point, I'd forgotten about that.

Arkham Asylum wouldn't have been as good if it was Two-Face or Hugo Strange pulling off the Arkham take-over. The Joker just lends a certain quality, and a certain threat to any situation he's in.
You say this as if Arkham Asylum had a good story to begin with. It was uninteresting to the general standards of video games, comic books, Batman and Paul Dini.

Gears of War 3. My concern isn't about the actual game mechanics, but the fact that I will likely become addicted to multiplayer and not have time to play any other of the great games coming out.

This.

Also concerned that Saints Row 3's pc version will be as bad as SR2's, and that the heavy use of instancing for the missions will make said missions too small, too linear and too scripted.

And I'm concerned that the Tomb Raider reboot will do an Other M on Lara.

thats a valid concern...I mean there is ALOT of potenital, it could be the Boss's downfall you know? like all the bad he or she did could catch up with them in the end....the boss would could go out with a bang

but as with thease things bcause I said it it wont happen that way...but still (you know what would be a cool game? if they did a "demolition man" to the boss, cryogenically froze him or her for some reason then they ended up in the next red faction games...)

uhh back on topic Im not worried but Hopefull that rage might actually be the first decent length single player in a FPS in a while..I hope so

there is small...small chance Deus ex could suck...but thats because I pre ordered

anyway I dont like to worry over thease things

well mabye Lara is in more capable hands (I mean even though EC pointed this out..the set-up for other M wasnt ideal from the start)

Skyrim will be horribly plauged with bugs, refuse to run and constantly crash when it does.
Seriously, we could all wait a month more or two if you actually seemed to test the game.
