Hello. So i was studying for my French class and it made me wonder what languages my fellow escapist can speak?

So, what languages can you speak? Whether fluently, whether you can just speak it or write it? What can you speak? I mean more than just a couple words though.

Let's make the requirement that you could be able to ahve small talk with someone in the language if needed?

So following that, I can speak:
English(obviously)
Beginner French, I try to use it as much as possible.
I can say hello in Esperanto.
I know the minimal conversation things in Spanish. like hello, how are you, your welcome, thanks. etc.

How about you?

I speak English, though I've had about 3 years of High School Spanish. I now a few words and phrases in German too, but that's the extent of it.

Well, I speak English, I can almost speak Spanish (I just suck at learning new languages) and I know just enough of about 20 other languages to insult someone accidentally.

I had a French test on Monday, AP French 5. Besides that I can speak English, and I can speak Dutch too. Other than the languages I've mentioned already, I can speak bits and pieces of Spanish, and Italian. I can also say please and thank you in Polish.

ぼくはにほんごはなします。そしてえいご。

Since my Japanese is fairly poor at the moment, I currently speak English as my native language and am learning Japanese.

-Conversational French
-Conversational Spanish

I used to know a few German and Latin phrases, but I gave up on those studies.

Had Spanish for 4 years, so I can hold a basic conversation in it. Along with that my primary language is American.

Romanian, obviously (native language)
Italian (comes fairly naturally for a Romanian)
French (the first foreign language studied in school, seldom use it, but I can easily watch a French movie without needing subtitles)
English (the second foreign language studied in school)
German (the first language I learned for myself, I'd say I can understand it spoken better than French, but I have real trouble spelling or even reading it)

Plus a touch of Spanish and Portughese. Mostly just understanding the gist, not actually speaking it.
And I suppose a smattering of Dutch, but just barely. It's like a heavily distorted German.

Tried Hungarian and Japanese several times, failed miserably at both each time. They just won't stick.
Also, you'd *THINK* that Latin (as in, language of the Roman empire) would be easy for me since "Vulgar Latin" is (allegedly) the main root of Romanian, but you'd be wrong :)
While not quite as horrible as my attempts at Hungarian or Japanese, I also am a failure at Latin.
Ditto but ever so slightly less drastic for Russian (which I picked up bits of without even trying too hard, but further progress was... problematic).

English.
Spanish. (Barely)

In school I took classes for Spanish, French, Italian, German, and Latin. Sadly, I don't remember a thing.

English is my first language.

I know a fair bit of German and can hold a conversation with people for a while.

My Italian is on par with my German.

My Japanese is wretched though. I'm working on that.

English is my native language, but I also speak French and Polish.
I know tidbits of Spanish, Japanese, and Swahili, but nothing serious.

Portugues e minha lingua nativa = Portuguese (the Brazilian version) is my native language. (I'm not in the mood to figure out how to post with the proper punctuation codes, so bare with me.)

English is the second one, which I picked up from videogames and cable tv shows in which the subtitles went haywire half-way through.

Learning Spanish now and a little japanese on the side.

French is relevant to my interests.

I speak English 99% of the time.

I could hold a basic conversation on French, if I needed to.

I speak English (What a shock!) and I'm working on Japanese.
Pretty sure I'm going to start French, once I'm confident I'm not going to end up confusing words and getting tossed in a Japanese jail cell. Might look into Russian, or Korean after that.

I like languages.
