Since moving into my new place, I never made an effort to become acquainted with my neighbors. Due to some circumstances today, my neighbor and I started talking got to know each other a lot better. We ere having an excellent time bashing religions when she casually broke the news to me that she is "new age" and she can "see and talk to ghosts."
She might be caught up too much in the Halloween craze, but now I know: I've a crazy neighbour. I've a half a mind to draw downward pentagrams and inverted crosses on my porch for Halloween just to see her reaction.

Also, no bashing of religions please...I had my fill of it, today.

...No, nothing creepy like that OP. My neighbours are more of the noisy arguing type. I can hear them screaming as I type this. It can be annoying at times, but it can also be fairly amusing.
Really nice people actually.

My other neighbour has moved recently, and she was somewhat of an oddball. A real nice lady though, but when she moved she dug up her dog that had been six feet under in her backyard for 7 years and took it with her to her new place. I never owned a dog, so I have no idea how emotionally attached you can get to a dog, but I don't think that is a normal thing to do if you're...an ethical human being.

i dont really know my neigbours. but they are not so much wacky as rude or inconsiderate.

Like a few years ago the back neighbour would regualarly have parties that went on till like 3 in the morning which wouldnt be that big an issue but my dads room in right near their backyard and often has to get up at 530 am to get to work. they also had a bright light that pointed right at our house. so basically in the kitchen, lounge room or dads bed room if you looked out the window you would get blinded.

many neigbours would call the police on them cause of the noise. my dad and them would get drunk and yell at each other. this boiled over and they stole our bins and tried to hit me in the face with a shovel through my bedroom window.

now my next door neighbor often starts loud music at like 2 am and the music continues for several hours, many people have called the cops on them too. they also seem to leave for work at like 6 am which isnt an issue except they beep their horn as they leave which annoys many neighbors cause it wakes up their kids etc.

Don't know my neighbors, I'm in the college dorms, but I do know more than a few have a tendency to become loud and obnoxious late at night.

And that the ones next to me probably has either a big TV or something, cause I'm trying to go to sleep and I can here a NFSesque game over the little bit of music I have on to go to sleep with.

All my neighbors are like 20+ years older than me. They are really reallly far right politically.

The guy across the way from me has two pet alpacas. Or he sells their wool. Not really sure what he does with them.

They spit.

My new neighbours are nice, 'normal' people. Our last neighbours at our old house kept calling the police on us for no reason. We moved because we were tired of their crap.

our neighbors used to fight alllll the time. My parents said the police have showed up about 65 times over the past 20 years. Finally the son and dad stopped fighting, guess they grew up or something, who knows.

My neighbor is kind of a dick. He called the city on us just for having a few plants grow too high. He keeps his yard pristine. I hear him yelling at his wife/kids sometimes. He's like, on the board of directors for Stat EMS. At least if I cut off a body part I can crawl over there.

The only time my neighbors are wacky is when the people across the street let their 3rd graders walk their massive dog. It usually ends up with them chasing the blasted thing into our yard.

We had some neighbours who believed they lived in a higher class than us. We also believed the husband was a bit OCD; every day, when the cars were brought home, he'd wash and wax them, then, at about 6 at night quite frequently, he'd go over his ENTIRE lawn (1 acre property, most of it was grass) with a whipper snipper (weed whacker in the U.S) then he'd go over it AGAIN with the lawn mower. His wife was snide, egotistical, and very bitter if we didn't do something she wanted.

My next door neighbour is, according to a taxi driver who used to live on my street, is a member of the BNP and a racist. For a good few weeks we, as in me and my housemates, were terrified of meeting him outside or even seeing him, since out of the five of us, only two of us are 'British-English' in ethnicity.

Eventually we took round some celebrations round to his house as a peace offering. Turns out he's not too bad. Still seems to hate us, but still. We tried.

Man, I don't even know everyone that lives in my apartment! Really, some new guy just moved into the room across the hall from mine, and I don't go out of my way to catch the guy when he's going to the bathroom.

I know what you mean man. My grandfather calls black people "boogie-woogies" (don't ask, I have no idea) and goes on a tirade when our college football team has a black quarterback. He was worryingly relieved at the start of this season when our starting QB was suspended and the backup (who is white) got the job.

Product of the times they grew up in, I suppose.

Oh man, some of the neighbors I've had over the years. The ones that were next door to me for most of the time I was growing up were always doing crazy stuff. Whether it was a bon-fire the size of an above ground swimming pool, or various types of livestock (let's see, we've had chickens, wild hogs, and a bull all escape their yard and wind up in mine at some point or another, to say nothing of various dogs and cats). My current neighbor, on the other side of the house, well let's just say "name something illegal but profitable, and he's probably connected to it." We're pretty sure that at various points he has used his property as a chop shop, a breeding location for an underground cockfighting ring, and a meth lab. I wish I was making this shit up.

Edit: That said, the second neighbor is really not bad as neighbors go. He minds his business, my family minds ours, he's friendly to us and vice versa if we have to talk about something, and otherwise we leave each other alone. It's not like he steals stuff from us, and he's never propositioned us for anything illegal, so like I said, I could do a lot worse than a neighbor like that.

I live in low income housing. The apartments around me are split between either average people just down on their luck from the bad economy or drug users. SWAT has shown up at the apartment right next to mine (We were all done at the time). A few times a month we can hear police helicopters canvasing the area looking for people. Child Protective Services come every few days. I can point to five apartments where I know you can purchase illegal substances.
