Finally a well written and coherent argument that will persuade all those who are angry about the change in Dantes character model that they are wrong. You should take up politics id vote for you.
I for one am not angry at the change I loved DMC and Dante in the first game but after that it fell apart. I can understand people being annoyed though if they liked Dantes design because well its not Dante anymore it some dude with the same name and similar abilities like a bizzaro world Dante dosent bother me as I have said Dante died a slow death for me while I played DMC 2 and 3 (never played much of 4) but if you did still like him then this would annoy the hell out of you and that is going to reflect back onto the game that has this Dante in.
Also you couldnt get past the first stage in the original DMC because of the confusing level design? well it was archaic Ill give it that with it basically being built off a failed Resi Evil concept but it wasnt that hard it was pretty linear so unless you were very young or inexperienced in games in general I dont see how it was too confusing too complete. Also the enemies respawning each time you entered a room was good as it allowed you to harvest orbs and lets be honest if you found the ones in the first stage a challenge in anyway I doubt you would have gotten far into the game even if you could figure out the first level.

I read about... 70% of it. I don't even know what Devil may Cry IS other than what I can get from Yahtzee's reviews. I heard that they were mad because they changed the character. I'm sure it was more complicated then that, but still, I don't see what the issues is. A new company takes over a franchise and wants to start it anew, rather than try to add to what the previous owners made (Unlike Halo 4). They kept the character and (I'd assume) aspects of the plot, so what's the problem? Maybe I could hear from someone (preferably not strongly biased with or against DMCDMC) to educate me, but until then, I don't think I'll understand it.

On topic though, I prefer smart-ass pizza-loving Dante to, anorexic, Fox News murdering Dante. That being said, I haven't played a Devil May Cry since the lava spider boss in the original and strongly prefer Raikou to any other bombastic, spectacle-fighter protagonist but there I go again talking about obscure characters from what will soon be known as two console generations ago.
