Some people just fall in and out of relationships more. I wouldn't lose sleep over it.

I'm 22 and I've had one. I've dated lots of guys, some for months, but I've only been with one who was worthy of being called my boyfriend.

Here you go, I'm 18 and my friend is 17. Not much difference right? However, whilst I've had no meaningful relationships (sniffle), I've 4 or 5 *partners*. Now he however being only a year younger than me has *fun* with seemingly any girl he wants. Usually he has *fun* 2 or 3 times a week with different girls. Oh, and hes been doing this for the past 4 years.

Here in Sweden people literally throw themselves into relationships as quick as possible, so, most people I know have had a ton of gf/bfs.

Me? I want to know the person before I decide to make such a commitment to them. I knew my current BF for 3 years before we got together, and it's awesome now.

But different strokes for different folks. It varies a lot.

EDIT; Oh, and I turned 17 this year. I've had... this serious boyfriend and two assholes who thought they could have their way with me and then just get out.

Bastards.

And I was under the impression we were all fucking like jackrabbits.

With the rate kids get together and break up, I'd half expect a person in their twenties to have more exes than calories burned in a day.
I mean, my GOD. Human beings are just not compatible with each other. I am genuinely in awe when I see an old couple, they've managed to go decades only hating each other enough to grumble mean things.

PERHAPS MY VIEW IS A LITTLE SKEWED THOUGH

19 years and no girl has thought I've been a good idea for more than a day. Surely this is evidence that educational standards are not slipping at all.

it's human nature.
Yup. Also, if you're a heterosexual female, anything more than him you're a whore. Anything less than him, you're still a whore.

If you're a female who likes other females, anything more than him, he wants pictures. Anything less than him, he encourages you to have more, and could you please send him pictures?

If you're a male who likes other males, anything more than him, he D:

Mine is very low by that standard. I've been on around 15 dates in my teen years but I've only had around 3 girls I would call my girlfriend. I think much of it stems from a very cynical outlook on life as well as refusing to accept any girl that I can't hold a conversation with.

I'm 16 and have dated twice, one lasting about 5 months when I was 13-14 and another 2 months when I was fifteen. I have friends who are 18 and have never dated, and others who are 17, have dated over 5 times and have been having sex for over a year. What's normal or average varies depending on the environment too. At my last school, which was a very small (under 200 students all up), and many relationships happened between students at the school, my two seemed like quite a bit. But I have friends at much larger public schools who've had 3-5 relationships at the same age and that isn't out of the norm for them.

It's always, with something like this, going to vary from person to person.

To brand anything 'normal' is to merely say 'this is the average'. People tend not to follow averages, and more veer wildly over and under it to achieve it - you'll be hard pressed to get a figure from this question.

Not really, my friend is 15 and he's had like 16 girlfriends, but that's a bit excessive. Then again, he counted middle school.

As for a real relationship I've had none. I've had a girlfriend before, but that barely counted.

Eh. I didn't have my first boyfriend until I was eighteen, and even now I've not had any really serious relationships. I doubt it's something to worry about though, it's like asking how many jobs you've had, or how many times you've moved house. It's not necissarily dictated by any specific factors, the potential reasons are endless.

Unless you've had a specific recurring problem it's pretty much a non-issue.
