I found a site on the internet called http://www.menarebetterthanwomen.com/ . Now at first, I thought it was a joke site. You know, all sexist jokes and stuff. But then I saw some articles, how women shouldn't be allowed to vote, or own property, and stuff like that.
Then it it me. This guy meant what he said. He actually believed this stuff. And apparently, a lot of people agreed with him. Now, I know this is the internet, and while I wasn't shocked, it still surprised me.
What I want to know is what stuff have you read on the interet that surprised you. Not the usual shock pictures or stuff like that, but something like this. A site where you see what it's about and just go "...Is this real?"

There aren't many that make me do a double-take. I'll admit sites like those, or anti gay, or creationist sites do make me raise an eyebrow before sighing despairingly at the close mindedness of people, but the internet is awash with idiots. It's a well known fact.

I'll go with the Flat Earth society. The most stupid thing I ever seen, when it comes to conspiracy theory.

http://www.theflatearthsociety.org/forum/

Aparently theres this giant wall of ice keeping the water from falling down. Of course that the goverment doesn't want the people to know. I just love the idea of every goverment on Earth preventing everyone from knowing that the Earth is flat...

-.-''

Oh please tell me that it's all a joke, because my mind can't comprehend that sort of thing.
Fortunately, yes, this one is a joke - and a damn good one at that.
Menarebetterthanwomen.com, though, is not.

Metapedia.

Just Metapedia as a whole, I blundered onto it looking for casualty figures for the Malmagny massacre, oh dear God.

You just don't pay attention to these types of people and you'll be fine.
They're like monkeys yelling at other monkeys because their not the alpha.

That's kind of funny, but if they are serious, then it's also kind of terrifying.

The 9/11 conspiracy theory sites are some of the worst.

Apparently if you fold a dollar in a certain way it looks something almost similar to what could possibly be maybe a plane hitting something that resembles a tower.

As for the women thing, some people have different views or beliefs. And some views and beliefs are less credible than others.

I think my favorite "Dear God, I think they may be serious" site was forsakethetroops.com, which I found while in the Army. While I certainly respect the position that people in the Army might be a bit thick (because it is a hell of a way to pay for college, and more importantly I met the stupidest people I've thus far encountered while serving (also: the smartest)) or that they don't support wars that occur for reasons that no one seems able to divine at this point, the man's assertion was that we should all be killed.

Now, it's not as though it was based off of terribly great reasons or anything. One of his major assertions was that I was being paid too much. Apparantly, the fact that I made $25,000 during my first deployment (Total take home, before taxes it was about $27,50O) somehow offended the man, and the fact that I paid no income taxes (just social security and medicare) made it worse. Nevermind the fact that, when one considered my total time actually spent "working" was more than 75 hours a week or anything, and even flipping burgers at McDonalds would pay me substantially more with that kind of work week.

I actually have another on to add for sheer unbridled stupidity - http://www.conservapedia.com/Main_Page

They actually tried to get the FBI involved afer someone cahnged some of the pages. Which is the point of a wiki, if I'm not mistaken.

"HALO III: Recruiting Muslims and pagans
I was at my brother's house over the holidays and was forced to play their new xbox "Halo" game with them. I was initially filled with the warm glow of Jesus thinking that they had a 'REAL' game for their xbox, one that teaches the glory of scripture, but I was soon dismayed when prompted to create a virtual character for multiplayer combat.
