In the world of voice acting, for both cartoons and games, it's always fun trying to figure out who voiced who. And sometimes, you can come across a totally baffling and completely awesome connection between two out of nowhere characters. If you've ever had one of these moments, write 'em down.

To get the ball rolling, I'll start with one Lani Minella. You have heard her before. She does the voice of Irileth and the Dark Elves in Skyrim. That posh, droll voice, it's instantly recognizable.

Then I found out she did this:

I was honestly quite blown away that she did that voice. It sounds nothing like Irileth. I knew her instantly when she was Eve in Mass Effect 3, but this threw me for a loop.

Erin Fitzgerald's performance always catches me off guard. She's one of these voice actresses who can voice literally anyone! Young girls, young boys, teenagers, mature women, seductive women, shy women, enthusiastic women, ANYONE! She is one of my favorite VA's and always fail to recognize her voice!

Also, Karen Strassman.

I never know who anyone is but occasionally I recognize a voice. I remember watching Avatar: the last air bender and thinking ?wait...is that Jeanette/Therese(VTM:B)?? when Azula started talking. Sure enough it was! I also recognized her voice as Catwoman. I guess that voice + crazy stands out to me.

Well i'm almost positive the same VA is used for one of the Protoss units (Stalkers I think) in Starcraft 2 and Zed from League. The exact same voice changer thing and they both talk about shadows.

Still I may have to main Zerg once I get around to online matches. Select all, click on enemies, run in, win is what I do anyway and that looks like what your average Zerg plays are in essence.

Got to get multitasking going though. One massive fuck off force walking around the map as one big army must get countered by loads of things. Siege Tank lines for example.

Oh and Jennifer Hale voices the female Assault class in XCOM: EU. COMMANDER SHEPARD IS GOING HAM! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

[sub][sub]Fuck random aliens, abort Mission Ham this may have been a bad idea[/sub][/sub]

Mass Effect 2 - Grunt. I knew I had heard him somewhere, then it dawned on me. Grunt's voice actor voiced a great number of NPCs in Gothic 3.

Another would be in Risen 1, when I first met The Don. Instantly recognisable, but glorious all the same. John Rhys fucking Davies!

OH. MAI. GAWD. That is so fucking crazy. Especially the first one. Why? Nefarious had a secret underwater base three years before Mr. Ryan revealed his failed utopia to us. I never expected the voices to parallel the obsession for secret underwater constructs.

Number 4 was something I expected though, the voice sounded familiar enough.

Last I checked Grunt was voiced by Steve Blum. Blum's been around, having voiced heroes, villains, and everything in between. Right off the top of my head I can tell you he was:

Grayson Hunt, Bulletstorm

Gene, Metal Gear Solid Portable Ops

Galvez, MGS Peace Walker

Killer Croc, Various other voices in the Batman Arkham games

Marines and brutes in the Halo games

The Thugs-4-Less Commander in Ratchet & Clank 2

...and many many many more. Like I said he's been around.

Laura Bailey has one of the sexiest voices I've ever heard. Also, this next one nagged at my until I finally figured it out, as only someone that played Warcraft III or WoW would spot it.

Kind of disgusting that googling Tsunade produces more disturbing images than normal ones.

I haven't played any of those games, so for me, I just recognised him as one of the core-NPC voices in Gothic 3 alone. He has a rather awesome voice.

Morrigan - Dragon Age: Origins

Admiral Xen - Mass Effect 2 & 3

Cydaea - Diablo 3

Sam Byrne - Gears of War 3

And many, many, many, many more.

I would mention Nolan North as well, but... Well, it would be a shorter list to say the things he hasn't been involved with. :/

Agreed about the voice. it's gravelly and deep enough to sound menacing, but it carries well enough to show a good amount of emotion. Steve is experienced, and it shows.

Frank Oz... It's not surprising for a show to have multiple characters played by the same voice actor... especially when the show is something like the Muppets.... The Cookie Monster, Bert, Animal, Fozzie Bear and Miss Piggy are all played by Frank Oz. Possibly the greatest voice talent in the company.

But when you add the other big voice acting job Frank has done, you will hear something you will never be able to unhear...

YODA!

That's right....

These:

All have the same voice! And not only that, when you liten to them (particularily Miss Piggy and Yoda) you cna hear it!

TL:DR

[HEADING=1]Miss Piggy is Yoda!![/HEADING]

One of the greatest voices in the history of man. May he rest in peace.

OT: Often the similarities between character voices are too many not to notice, but sometimes...
Well, I found it difficult to believe that Philipp J. Fry and Dr. John Zoidberg are both voiced by Billy West, and those roles occur side-by-side in the same show!
Also, somewhat related, I almost shat bricks when I realized that Bender and fucking Marcus Fenix are both voiced by John DiMaggio.

WHAT THE HELL.

OT: Johnny Yong Bosch. He voiced both Adachi and Yu Narukami (protagonist) in Persona 4 and it's anime adaption. That was kind of weird hearing Adachi's voice as the protagonist's in the anime.

I was also surprised when I heard his voice coming out of a one episode character (Lujon) in Full Metal Alchemist. He was also the second Black Power Ranger.

I had such a moment in Dragon Age: Origins just the other day, when I found Baron Zemo from Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes apparently working as a crier in Orzammar. I guess the whole Nazi supervillain thing must not pay very well...
