This is for those moments where you decide to try a creative solution to a quest, objective or other such task in a game, only to realise that it actually works.

For instance, I just was playing Mercs 2, and was doing the mission for the Chinese where I had to escourt an ambulance through several Allied blockages and run through to a settlement. They give you an IFV to do it with, but for laughs I decided to use a PLAV helicopter, and carry the ambulance to the settlement.

It worked. Spectacularly.

Have you guys ever tried something not expecting it to work, and then been surprised by the results?

i played Fallen Earth, was going to kill a boss. I died many times trying to get trough his guards, but I climbed a random building I noticed he was standing by a window. Sniped him, mission complete =3. Since then I've always tried to find ways to avoid fighting a boss' guards.

I have LOADS of these.

Just to name two examples:

"Using the wall to block the Giant MT's shots and shooting him as he flies over actually works?"

"Getting round the back of the giant cyborg flea and taking advantage of her slow turning to avoid her death laser actually works?"

Nothing to do in school (2 free lessons) so I try to go on facebook. Apparently only administrators can go on that.
I log off and try to log in with "admin" as a username and "college" as the password.

It worked.

Running diagonally at a level 3 Sentry with a Pyro, moving at just the right angle and speed so that it won't lock onto me and destroying it without taking any damage.

I had loads of these sort of moments while playing Scribblenauts.

My favourite was when you have to protect a giant from a mob of angry villagers.

Summon shrink ray.
Hit giant with shrink ray.
Shrinks to human size.
Villagers no longer want to attack him.
I win!

On that note...

I once found a locked computer and tried 'password' as the password. It turned out that it had copies of Age of Empires II and Unreal Tournament 2003 open on the screen.

I wasn't aware that buildings could cave in in BFBC2, and I tried to open up a building in order to attack it better, cue it caving in and crushing the building.

Battlefield: Vietnam, Irving map, picking up an Amphibia (small troop carrier with a machine gun that can go over water as well as land) with a chopper and using it as a sort of a bomb, dropping it on things. Works amazingly well and I tell you, nothing beats the look of my mates' faces when they're trying to defend a bridge in a tank only to see the Amphibia doing a cartwheel towards them, slamming into their tank and blowing them up :D

RE4, the fight against Krauser. Once he straps bombs to the tower I shot him over and over again with mine darts and he would not die. Then i cut him 3 times with my knife and he was dead in 20 seconds

I just randomly fired an AT4 into the plane in Modern Warfare 2, got 4 people, no danger close.
I wasn't expecting it to hit anyone, I shall be honest.

Ugh, that's the most frustrating realizations ever.

Mine is a hunt in FFXIII. The giant Cactuar, to be precise. Each attack he does deals 10,000 damage, without fail. This is enough to kill any of your party members in 2 hits. I'd thrown myself at it time and time again, and I suddenly came to a realization. It's weak to Daze (a stun spell). I made everyone cast it, and proceeded to beat the shit out an enormous cactus with very few problems.

When I fought the two tree/bear monsters in Final Fantasy 13, I got my ass kicked several times. Then I started messing around with a saboteur and a synergist and stuff. A moment later I noticed I was still alive and the monsters had lost half their health. I put them down pretty fast after that.

Killing Priere on Disgaea by throwing her on to a platform and chipping her to death.

Her special attacks are in range, but she doesnt use them and she cant move, she doesnt even heal.

Then again its the only way I could kill her with a level 600 Laharl, 400 Divine Majin and 450 Lord, by using guns and Dimensional Slash.

Then when you get Priere her stats are halved and because shes monster class she cant get boosted weapon damage from weapon levels, making my Divine Majin better by far.
