Your reaction smacks of hysteria. Wrong, girls can be fat and healthy.
There are lots of different body types, many of which would be judged "fat" by today's ludicrous standards, that are perfectly healthy.

But if you're actually fat, as in medically obese, then no, I'm sorry, you're not 'healthy'. You're not necessarily an abomination that must be driven from the village square with flaming brands, but we can call a spade a spade.

It's hard for anyone, fat or skinny, to be healthy on a typical modern diet containing additives and environmental pollutants. It just so happens that fat people tend to store more of these in their bodies if they consume such processed/junk food. Studies on weight and health are somewhat skewered when you discount environmental pollutants and overall lifestyle.

What the fuck? Is there really a problem with what people find attractive? Is there really a problem with finding a girl who isn't completely skinny attractive? Why does society drive us in such stupid ways?
Answer one: quite... Answer two: apparently, there is, even though there really shouldn't be... Answer three: see answer two... Answer four: conformity towards a 'general average' which usually means the following: slim; symmetrical; fine-featured (at least from a distance); shorter than the male partner, etc. etc.

I get where you're coming from and while I've, broadly speaking, never had a 'fat' girlfriend, I've had looks on the street from jackasses who are blatantly thinking "how the hell can you date that?!" Thankfully, few though her friends may be, we pay little regard to her scars.

No, fair enough, there's no question that the shit we're eating is why so many of us are getting terribly unhealthy. I don't necessarily see "fat" as a condemnation of someone's moral character. It's really easy to gain weight, and really hard to lose it. I just take issue with "you can be fat AND healthy" because going by realistic definitions of fat...you really can't.

How fat? If she's like, morbidly obese, well then yeah it's a health risk. If she's just being bigger than normal, your friend is a douchenozzle.

A lot of body fashion (i.e. skinny girls being desirable one decade, the next decade curvy girls are 'in') is the same as any fashion and fads, it's about social status and it often revolves around that which is hardest to achieve. It's why in times when food is scarce, large people are seen as desirable (it suggests that they have a steady access to food, they can provide for a family, large women in particular will bear healthier offspring) and in modern times when junk food is plentiful and cheap and exercise is unnecessary, being skinny is seen as desirable (it suggests that they are hard working, they have self control and mental strength).

I really wanted to find some links that explained this better but Google only offered me crappy pop articles about 'what men want'.

In fact my search skills are being extra crap because I can't find the article I read about this, now, either, but maybe someone saw the programme on TV last year about how blind people develop attraction to other people. One (blind) guy talked about how he was going out with a girl he really liked, then his brother told him she was ugly, so he broke up with her. It's because of the social status, people don't want to be perceived as inferior because the person they're dating is perceived as inferior, and if they're big enough to get over that, the point of what I'm saying is;

People don't want their friends to be perceived as inferior for dating someone perceived as inferior... because then they are perceived as inferior for having friends that are inferior!

... well, that was an awkwardly written post.

By being an one sided asshole?
I think not. I don't call trying to control what I find attractive looking out for me, that sounds like something a dictator would do.

She is just a bit bigger than normal. And, yes, I agree on the douchenozzle part.

Is your friend in question a sexy, smouldering, Robert Downey Jr (just using a random attractive celeb) look-alike? I'm sure he is. Sounds like he has all the girls after him. Girls just love shallow pricks like that.

You should have just told him to pull his head out of his arse. As long as she's not dangerously unhealthy then I don't see what the problem is.

I am very much a fat girl and have had no problems getting a boyfriend in the past. I can tell you, your friend is going to have a very hard time getting laid unless he bucks his ideas up.

Because it can get you made fun of, and his friend(I assume) doesn't want that to happen to him.

Yes, it is.

If you date a woman who is fat who cooks for you, she will most likely cook to her standards. The same standards that make her fat.

If she shops, she will shop for her. The foods she buys will most likely make you fat.

OT: I don't think you should care, although there is a difference between fat and morbidly obese.

CAPTCHA: against the grain
We're talking high-school kids definition of 'fat' here though, which can often be translated into English as 'has hips'. Not the sort of fat that is actually a serious problem.

Besides, different people suit different body types. For example, 2 girls I know. One is your typical 6ft, blonde, really skinny girl, the other is about 5ft 4in and decidedly plump and curvy. Both equally hot, in my opinion, just for different reasons, and more importantly both fine the way they are.

Let people make fun of me, I won't let that compromise what makes me happy. And, like I said before, she isn't really fat. Most of my friends are friends with her, and I don't see why any of them would make fun of me.

But anyway- I'm pretty sure he wasn't, after actually confronting him about it in person...

As long as you love the person.. who cares what other people think? If she is beautiful to you that is what matters.. screw the haters tbh.. everyone can be gorgeous to someone no matter of size imo.

Do more than avoid. Sever the friendships faster than they can blink.

In any case, there's nothing wrong with that. At all.

You've probably heard saying "Big girls need love, too."

It's pretty damn relevant. But yeah, tell your friends to go fuck themselves. They'll probably need practice soon as all the good girls avoid their asses like the plague.

Makes me wonder if the same attitude is there for women dating "fat" dudes. I'd date one. Usually weight is never really a factor of what makes someone attractive to me.

I've never dated a girl who wasn't fat (or, indeed, more than one girl,) so obviously I don't have a problem with that.
