I always fantasize about myself stepping into the stories I read and helping the positive or negative characters out.

In harry potter for example, ever since I was introduced to mad-eye moody as a scary mysterious badass guy on the part of Dumbledore, I would imagine myself in his stead, bursting in the Great Hall and going up to the Headmaster, then sitting down and getting introduced not necesarily as a teacher.
I would then proceed to screw with the minds of the characters, appearing in rooms where they would be hiding and be mysterious-like, maybe saving them from trouble.

I had a similar fantasy regarding Peter Pan. I used to be dissapointed that he didn't show up, despite me leaving my window open every night. It wasn't that I liked him in particular, but I was very keen on flying. At this age, I am surprised I haven't jumped out the window back then as I tended to do all sorts of stupid stuff.

At the same time, it was when I was a kid that I read about the Forgotten Realms. I once dreamed about the wall separating our world from their with the small stone plaque engraved with runic letters "Herein lie the lost lands". I was very dissapointed waking up.

I also ended up being quite cynical. Sad, really.

Without occasionally dreaming about things like that makes people... um, something not-that-good.

I believe that someday an indie-bearded man will appear, erase everything bad I've done and take me to a fantasyland. Or at least when I die, I'll get everything even minorly bad I've done, erased and get to that fantasyland.
No. Wait. That's not me. At all. Don't crucify me for that though, it was a too delicious opportunity. Man can wish whatever he likes, as far as I care.

Gandalf will knock on my door and set me for an adventure. And I am going to Hogwarts. And I've had a few dreams lately about me being an alchemist.

I can barely get out of my head so I sure do dream about things as these as well.

I'm waiting for the day I get sucked into a video game with some people who think I'm a loser, and I become the hero and save them all and then they'd like me.

Childhood fantasy, indeed.

While I still wouldn't mind getting sucked into the world of Mass Effect - the nonviolent parts of the world, at least - my fantasy now is somewhat different, but in the same field. I want to wake up one morning next to a woman who actually loves me.
