hi. i want to buy a laptop as the title said. right now i have a Dell inspiron N5010 (the i5 version) which served me well for the past 4 years and now i want to buy a new one. here the price for building a PC is way way higher than a laptop (for some reason) so while i want, i cant go that route. i dont want it to be expensive. mid way i but i want it to work for a long time. like the one i have right now. can you give me a tip?

Look into Asus if you want a decent gaming laptop. There's not that much to talk about when talking about laptops. Just make sure to get a cooling pad if you do get a laptop, or your laptop will constantly overheat. My best suggestion to you is to wait until a brand has a megasale and then buy, because you can save like ~$200 or more by just buying at the right time. Some tips for checking out deals would be to check out kotaku/moneysaver or dealzon from time to time.

I bought my laptop at Costco, and Costco requires all manufactures to give a 2 year warranty, so Costco can be a good place to go if you don't want a laptop that you'll have to replace in < 2 years, but you also don't get a wide selection at Costco either.

I 2nd Asus Laptops. I have an old ROG gaming Laptop from them and it still works great. They can be a little pricey, but they are worth it, I have had mine for 8 years now. Definitely get a cooling pad though. I went low tech and use a couple ice pack rolls with a sleeve under mine(when 1 is thawed out I switch it with the one in the freezer). Not the best solution, but it works for me.

Just stay away from them AMD's lol they have everything overclocked right from manufacturer. I've seen them literally ignite.
