To watch that anime at its prime just watch the first episode and all the way until somewhere episode 63 (or whenever that arc had ended). After that it went all downhill with the start of that filler arc. Even when that arc was over the rest of proper manga content were terrible.

This sounds right to me. If you enjoy those ones then you can skip the filler arcs and get a bit of enjoyment over the rest of the plot but it's best is definitely the first arc.

I don't know, I've watched the entirety of Bleach that's been made, so far, and in my opinion:

- Most of it is good

- There are basically 15 arcs, so far...and you can go check each one out on the Bleach Wiki. If you are looking to cut down on the worst arcs, those would be numbers 4 (Bount Arc), 7 (Hueco Mundo Sneak Entry Arc), and 9 (New Cpt. Shusuke Amagai Arc).

- The really good arcs are the ones that follow the manga, but not all the "filler" arcs are bad. As with a lot of anime, it takes a lot of time for one battle to take place...if you don't like what's going on, just fast-forward.

Just check out the EPISODES section of Bleach Wiki to figure out which follow the manga and which are anime-only.

As I said, I like most of the episodes, and the ones that were boring, I just skipped past on an as-needed basis.

Hope that helped a little.

Oh, and anything about the Quincy sucks and you can skip those, too...those people bore me to death.

Basically that. You really can skip the Bount arc and actually save a few brain cells. But it's mostly very good. If you stop watching after the rescue arc(as above), then you miss some of the most badass characters of the series, from the Espada arc. Like Greenjow(Grimmjow w/e), Ulquiorra, and some great showoff fights with the captains.

But the start will really grab. As far as power-battle animes go, it's story setup is pretty involving.

http://bleach.wikia.com/wiki/Episodes

This tells you all of the arcs and which episodes are in each arc. At the beginning of the description it tells you if it's an anime only arc. (Which means that you can see if it's in the anime without seeing spoilers). Skip the fillers. If you want to watch fillers, the zanpaktou rebellion arc is okay (at least the first have it), and the current filler arc, but other than that, avoid them like the plague.

The man speaks my feelings. The first 20 episodes had scenes that were genuinely funny, then the Soul Society arc is good, and then it just gets generic real fast. Interesting characters were what bleach had over the other shonens, and it didn't deliver them after the Soul Society arc. But there are much much better anime and manga out there, seriously.

Bleach is good during the 1st arc, but goes downhill after that. One Piece is better anyway.

I've just jumped in randomly. That show has serious problems mang. It's action is okay but its long and drawn out like dragon ball Z sometimes but unlike dragon ball z it has a serious problem establishing philosophy without it being a complete distraction to the plot or having it not sound like complete nonsense. And even though i've seen like what 50 or 70 episodes or so the show seems repetitive already. You should start from the beginning. At least then you could say the writer behind the show had integrity in his writing nowadays the show is on the air because of MONEY. Although I saw some of the earlier episodes and even some of the specials and I just shake my head at the show. It really makes for good abridged material.

I dunno, I kinda liked Uryu's fight with Captain Mayuri. But then again I think that might have just been because Mayuri made it enjoyable.

Overall....yeah. As has been said, expect to be in this for the loooong haul. Bleach has a mild case of Dragonball Z Syndrome. Every fight tends to take at LEAST two episodes, usually more. And Ichigo is always doing some kind of training.

The Bount Arc you can indeed skip (it never existed in the manga, thank god), the Hueco Mundo Sneak-In...yeah, you can skip that too unless you're curious about Hollows and want some extra backstory on some characters. Once they actually get IN to Las Noches, well..that's just basically one fight after another so I suppose it works out. I would advise watching at least the beginning of the Sneak-In bit, though. As I do believe that sets up what the stakes are and who these jerks in white with mask fragments are.

It's not a bad series, but...it's just long. Even without the filler/semi-filler it can be long. Might wanna really evaluate if you want to invest the time to watch it beyond perhaps the first few arcs.

I suggest you just go with the manga. As a rule of thumb, mangas are generally better than their animes. It may start out kinda slow, but it hits it's stride around the Sneak Entry Arc.

well start at Ep 1 and keep going till season 3, you can skip season 4 because nothing really happens, if you want to skip all the non cannon episodes by "non cannon" I mean when they had to stall for idea and make up a random story about supourt characters.

as soon as you get up to the episode where there's a small girl wearing a hat that covers her face and ses "we" instead of "I" SKIP IT just go to the next season because there is nothing there that has to be seen it's just filler that they came up with when they where waiting on manga to push the story forward

As the Mad Stalin said, you SHOULD be careful when handling cleaning fluids. If you really want to get into it, I'd suggest looking under your local sink...Most sandwich ma-...Most women tend to hide it under there.

The first 15 or so episodes are a slow burn since they mainly function as a character set up.

After that it gets pretty damn good, untill the initial cast returns to the real world. Then, all the way to about episode 110, it's filler time.

Best way to go about it is to get the full collection and a video player with fast forward, because you will be doing it alot, per episode there is maybe 5 minutes of new content that is when the episode itself isn't just filler.

And once you get to the end wait for a year or so before you pick it up again, watching it on a weekly basis will only make you mad.

Watch until the end of the soul Society arc. It's boring as hell after that and only manages to stay afloat due to a few of the captains (especially Kenpachi).

There's enough memes about Tite Kubo's methods that I could fill a book with them - watch One Piece instead if you have the time.

I was going to make that joke as soon as I saw the title, checked to see if anyone else had done it first...and the only person who had is the last person to have posted when I opened this.
