hi guys,
i know im kinda late to the party, but i want to get into the marvel comicverse.
my interest is growing more and more since the mcu started but ive always shyed away from actually getting invested, since for me, it just seems sooooooooooo huge.

i have basicly the movieknowledge from avengers, spiderman and the xmen, but i know that that might not represent the universe that well.

i got into it by reading death of wolverine. i mean, the story itself wasnt that good, but the artstyle was awesome and i got intrigued by all the characters i dont know (much?).

so, for someone like me, where should i start?
whats a good storyline to read?
id like something where i dont have to read more on a wiki to know whats going on, but i realy like the big, overarching storys that streach out over multiple books/heroes/whatever. thats why i like the mcu so much, its one big story.

sooo where to begin?

just for reference: i realy like stark/iron man, just LOVE loki but thor seems kinda bland. spidy seemed realy interesting until now (whatched the 90s tv show too) and the xmen.... well kinda like and hate them. they are realy hit and miss. but i know the least about them (excluding wolverine.... he seems to be everywhere).

so thanks in advance =)

PS: sorry for my poor english..... hope your eyes dont bleed too much XD

Sorry in advance, I'm typing this on a phone.

It's not as intimidating as it may appear, the best way to start is to find the start of a successful writer's tenure on a title and go from there. For example, with Spider-Man the best jumping on point, in my opinion, is at the start of the JMS run, which is Amazing Spider-Man vol. 2 #30 and read from there to present. Avengers comprises a number of titles, so if you want to start at a relatively recent point in time then I reccomend you start at the beginning of "New Avenger" or "Avengers Disassembled" and move forward from there, there's no better jump on point.

New writers typically come in and set themselves up in a way that allows them to "start fresh" with regards to plot points. Not only that but writers recognise that 99% of readers will not have gone back to read some lost crap from the 60's and though they may address things that happened in the past they refer to them in a way that introduces new readers to the concepts without dumping exposition or confusing them. It's like watching the second season of a TV show without seeing the first.

As a huge fan of X-Men, I would suggest you to start reading comics about them. Personally, I prefer Wolverine series better than others, but that is just my opinion.

For Loki, Journey into Mystery was awesome (although about a kid-loki) and currently Loki : Agent of Asgard is pretty cool.

Loki also featured pretty heavily in the most recent (and awesome) run of Young Avengers.
