ahahaha if they did that no one would ever be allowed to pick him because they would have to make him so powerful to meet fan expectations, which they could screw but they would never here the end of it.
On to the Topic:
What's with all the Jiggly bashing? For one, Sleep and Rest are special situation moves, you shouldn't make your primary aim to hit with them, jiggly's all about hit-and-run air mobility and stuff. My bud alex pwns so hard with jiggly that it could leave a person cross-eyed. The key thing is that you can use an attack WHILE jumping, which means you could rapid air attack ... (how many jumps does jiggly have again?), and alex knows all jigglys air attacks EXACT range, so he pokes the crap out of you with mid-air kicks while ur wondering how you're losing to a flying pink puff ball. I found that just from watching him im much better as jiggly.
Characters that i would like to see(et cetera), even though i agree another smash bro's would probably be too much, despite that i would buy it anyhow:
Zero: Highly unlikely, he's a capcom company characer, but then Snake wasn't exactly nintendo, and Zero has always oozed awesome compared to the pacifistic X anyway(seriously what did they think would happen when they portrayed the two characters as the God of Destruction, and a whiny pacifist? who wins the cool contest there? When X gets serious he's kinda cool, but he's not most of the time.), plus ranged characters are pretty much covered with Lucario, Pit, Samus, et.c.
Megaman X: Given what i've just said in Zero's commenting, a character that features completely ranged attacks would be interesting. Even samus, whose only real weapon is her Beam Hand and what comes out of it, uses melee attacks, and quite successfully too. If they added X they would have to make him an interesting Full Ranged fighter, to make it worth it in my eyes. How they would work out an aiming system or such, is beyond me, but this is where i stand.
Naruto: If they do, company's or no, this one's gonna be there, (dear God i refuse to use the B.I. phrase), whether anyone likes it or not. 'Cuz if he isn't the fans will never let them live it down. If you don't think so, you haven't met a brainwashed naruto fan yet. i have. IT will not shut up. (note the Brainwashed, i like the naruto series myself, but people are a little too fanatic about it, it has faults like every other show there is)
Other Sonic series characters: People around me just won't shut up about how they added sonic, but made shadow a trohpy character, and didn't add any others. Tails should have been a given, he has been with sonic the longest, Knuckles has a notable fan following, and Shadow's just cool(although they kinda mess his image up with bits of his story)
Pokemon: There could stand to be better things than what they got. Lucarios awesome, jiggly is a statement, but Squirtle is pathetic, it could at least be wartortle; Ivysaur? Who the heck ever noticed ivysaur, Bulbasaur is cooler, and venasaur is stronger. Given that they cant add legendary's since they make better pokeball summons, i think something like one of the dragon types, or an awkward but nifty one, like in-frequent dark types, could stand to be added if anything. this is mostly just a matter of not adding stupid ones, and making sure that the ones you do add arent stupid. Like magikarp. if they add magicarp and i see it i will personally smash my head with the Wii-mote 7 times, and then another 7 for good measure.
Krystal(From Star Fox): I've seen this one, and i think it would be a good add, SO LONG AS SHE'S NOT A CLONE OF ONE OF THE OTHERS. She plays as a lightweight in Star Fox assault, so if they brought her in as a hit-and-runner, or a weapons specialest, or such, it would be a good fit. Otherwise dont bother, im sick of the Cloning thing.
Rachet and Clank: I think it would be an interesting add if the rights were obtained by nintendo to feature them in a SSB game. Just that. They have enough weapons, equipment, etc to fit with teh controls system.
Ryu (from Ninja Gaiden games): This would just be awesome, but somehow i get the feeling his image could only have high percentages of being harmed by showing up in a SSB game, cool as i think it would be.
Gundams: They would have to choose VERY VERY VERY carefully, or suffer the Fan Flak, and the rights to add even one would be a headache and a half i imagine. In other words, i think it would be more harm than help to add one, but i would still like to see one added. Maybe the Scythe or Wing gundam from the first ones i ever saw, or the Shining/Burning gundam from that other series. (shut up its been a while since i watched them)
Master Chief: ehhh...there's too much crap involved with this name and series. If nintendo added him it would just be throwing themselves into the hurricane, too much of a highly random and dangerous variable. I vote unlikely.
Warcraft Characters: this would be interesting, maybe hilarious, but not gonna happen i say. Too far of a fling to add them.
Croc: I happened to see the game next to my moniter, this would be one hell of a joke.
Crash Bandicoot: Also for kicks this would be funny.
Character removal comments:
Marth: The heck is wrong with you people? They just finished dividing Marth from the second character, by making him a quick type, and the other a heavy type. If you want to add more Fire Emblem characters that would be awesome, but marth and ike have made themselves out for good characters now, from the Melee point where there might as well have been one
Jigglypuff: i commented on this already, its a matter of how you play Jig's, and wether you let the pink puff ball image affect your opinion or not
Lucas/Ness: this is the same thing with what they had in Melee with marth and the other: It's pointless to have two characters with only 2 or 3 differences, they only need ness or lucas. Remove the less popular one. I haven't played earthbound so i can't comment much on this.
Mario: Not so much removal as, FIX HIM. Dear lord what is the worth of the stupid Fludd? I have yet to see a good use for it except edge guarding, which is unlikely since set up and maintainment of it, plus it leaving you wide open, makes it so small windowed that you never really have a good point to use it. Maybe its because i haven't seen it used right, but it really could use a change, or improvement.
Fox/Falco/Wolf: DIVIDE THEM. Dear lord, WHY DO THEY ALL USE LANDMASTER? Whenever falco says "personally i prefer the air" i yell: THEN USE AIR YOU IDIOT! Why dont they use an AR Wing or call in an AR Wing Team Strike!? THREE CHARACTERS WITH TEH SAME FINAL SMASH IS JUST PLAIN STUPID. The characters themselves are fairly decently divided in play, Wolf being less bent on his special attacks and more suited to normal attacks, and fox being very special attack capable, and falco mid-way. They could use a bit more division, but if it must they really could stand with just the final smash being changed.
Pikachu: IS FINE. He's a fan gift, and must be treated as such. He has his own play, he's not imba, Spaming the thunder has its downsides, etc, etc. ... ok technically its an it not a he... anyway, it plays fine, and is unique, and i prefer unique to imbalanced or worthless.
Link: What's with this apparent need to have a smaller link? I grant that maybe it's not a bad concept having a heavy weighted link and a lighter one, but does it HAVE to be a parady'ish link? Maybe make a Wolf Form link, Equipment Drop after final smash, or something, hell, use a Dreadnaught, i don't know. Maybe it's just me and the anti-clone sentiment i have, and the Links are fine, since i can't think of any characters off-hand that would make a good lightweight replacement.
Olimar: He's unique, has his own play, can pwn if used right, all that good stuff, but really he's just out of place. I like the pikman and pikman 2 games, but he really just doesn't seem to fit in here in my mind, not to mention the Pikman attacks are pathetic since its almost random which pikman will be used in his attack. He just doesn't have enough of a following, or a good image, to be here. Jiggly plays on her being a hilarity/Target cuz of the pathetic'ness thing, Luigi annoys people by being so...Luigi, Kirby is Kirby, etc, but with Olimar its just "oh, what an odd little character" He's almost on the same page as:
Ice Climbers: One, i've never played or even heard of the Ice climbers game till they were characters in SSBM, and they really aren't done right. They either need to be changed, so that they can more outrightly be played as a two-in-one package, or they can be removed. The whole thing with them is that you have two units instead of one, and the things you can do with them like hold two items, but they just can't be seperated enough as it is. They're an obscure enough entity, that if they aren't improved, they might as well be removed. Even if they aren't given a way to play the two more seperatly at the same time, they need a general improvement any how, in my eyes.
Yoshi: Heck no, he's a fun play, and there's nothing outrightly wrong with him, except that the game never explains, manual or otherwise, how to breath fire with his Final Smash. now, saying something about mario riding him, that would be awesome. If they did so, they would have to add other full-character-team-up type things, but that wouldn't really be a far cry i dont think, minus that you can only ever really have 4 players, which would narrow play into two characters. There's enough characters that are from the same game, that they could do it, DK and Diddy Kong, Zelda, Link, and Ganon, Mario, Luigi, Peach, and Bowser, etc. It would be interesting at least, horrible and avoidable at worst.
Pokemon Trainer: Fixem or Ditchem, its that simple. His final smash is cool enough, but the lack of a choice of female or male, despite that being with the series since the start, and the poor choice of pokemon excluding Charizard, makes this a problem character. Fixem, or Ditchem. That simple.
Mr. Game and Watch: Hes funny, unique, and powerful wen used correctly. Except that he can be annoying at times, (the beeping with every movement or action does grate on ones nerves), i see no reason to remove him. His final smash is certainly hilarious, but i can't say it outrightly needs changing.
And that's all that comes to mind immediatly without me starting the game and looking at all the characters and commenting on each.
