Soggy. Jack was, generally speaking, sick of being soggy. Everything was either soggy, or moist, or damp, or dank, or just plain wet. Including him. He hated it. Hated the whole damn city. Wished nothing more than to be able to leave the place and never look back. Turns out, he can. Cause now he's in the arena.

The Frenchman looked from Tophat to Diana and back again.

"Yes, of course I can talk. I was speaking in French. Have you not heard it? Are there such isolated villages in England that people still do not recognise our language?" He turned to Tophat, unsure who to question about the bizarre answer.

"Il semble bizarre.Est ce ciel? Est ce ce que voulez dire vous?" He glanced at Diana again and frowned momentarily, then spoke once more to Tophat.
"Parlez-vous Anglais?"

(It does sounds bizarre. How can... is this somewhere in Heaven? Is that what you mean?)

"I am not from this... England, or what ever country you said. I am from the city-state of Shinestone. And I have never heard anything like what you speak."

"I do. I was mainly speaking French for your benefit. And this is not somewhere in heaven, I don't think. I doubt Heaven is run by a soulless corporation." - Tophat said before looking over at Diana.
"No, you wouldn't have. Frankly, I am a tad surprised that you speak English."

Jack looked around, already holding his revolver. He was wary. Also confused. HE couldn't smell saltwater, and that was strange to him. It was dark, but he was used to being in the dark, so he found the door easy enough. He went to it and out of it cautiously, listening for the wild chattering of a random splicer.

OOC:

That's the best I can do.

"I... no, you are probably right." The man conceded sheepishly. He looked curiously at Diana.
"Shinestone? I've never heard of it. Where is this city-state? Is it somewhere in the Americas?"

Diana looked at Tophat. "I am not speaking english. This is Common. Strange..." She looked at the man with a slight smirk. "Unless someone called my homeland the Americas without my knowledge, no."

@Demon: I think there's food at the bar, your character doesn't need to look hard to find it.

At the time, Gumi was trying to reload one pistol, so she was easily tripped by Rex. She rolled back and spring to her feet, firing the last 2 bullets at Rex as she stood up.

"Different worlds, most likely. I am myself from Germany, England or possibly Sweden, depending on how you see it. Based on your clothing, I'd wager you are from the sixteenth century, somewhere around that?"

The Frenchman only looked more confused now.

"I don't see how... if you speak..." Before he could gather his thoughts, James approached and tapped him on the shoulder.

"You've been taken into a parallel reality. There are different versions of Earth that all go through time the same way, but different events can occur and different people inhabit them. All creations of God. Sometimes, he takes a person from one timeline and puts them in another, to fulfil His task. I guess that's why we're all here. Its weird, I know, but that's what I can gather on the situation." With that he stepped back. Moving beside Tophat, he whispered to him.

"17th century weapons and armour. European. I somehow doubt he's going to understand complex science stuff any better than I do."

The Frenchman stared at James for a moment, then shook his head and sighed.
"If you say so. But where are my manners?" He swept his wide brimmed hat from his head and bowed low.
"My name is Capitan Jacques Leveque. At your service." He glanced at Tophat.
"Yes, you are close. 1604."

OOC: @Outis The chain tattoo! Everyone knows it, it's symbolic of the first Bioshock.

Ethan gets the food, and than looks at everybody "Anybody want uh..." He looks more closely at the food "Either a veggie pizza or a stew without meat" He looked towards Jaques "Who's this God you speak of? Cause I was told Arceus made the universe"

@Berk: Think there was a mix up on the colours there.

"I am Diana. Good to meet you captain." Diana gave a short bow.

"I am Tophat, in name and form. Not the most imaginative of names, I'll admit. I had to pick it at short notice, and it grew on me."
It took a step back and bowed slightly, not taking off itself.
"If you'll excuse me, I need to retire. Good night." - With that, Tophat left the lounge and returned to its own suite.
OOC: Off to bed. Gotta get some sleep while the painkillers are working.

"And you, Madamoiselle Diana." Jacques said with a charming grin. He was about to speak again when he heard Ethan cut in, and glanced at him.

"Perhaps this Arcaeus you speak of is but another name for God. Some heathen peoples in countries far from the teachings of His word often have confused beliefs and terms for the story of the Bible, but some of them are close enough to the truth."

"I am fairly certain that isn't the case. Cause I've never heard of this Bible before in my life. That and Arceus is accepted by the scientific foundation as a Pokemon He opens up his Pokedex to Arceus's entry. The Pokedex showed a drawing of it and a short summary that said "It is said to have emerged from an egg in a place where there was nothing, then shaped the world."

Jacques glanced at the Pokedex.
"Non. That is not an image of God." He said, shaking his head slightly as he examined the picture.
