"Ah. Right." Aethion said, looking somewhat blank. "It had much the same effect that I have seen in some Alteration spells, that is why I asked."

"I see. Well, that is interesting. I believe my family have great potential, but I never would have expected any of us to want to take a position at the head of Winterhold College."

Carmen looked over toward Jack and raised an eyebrow. [color=bb0066] "Yes. And you're a human with some magic ability." [/color]

"...Might as well call it that." Jack said as he watched some bees crawl around his left hand.

The other man staggered over to the bar and slumped over it, still holding his head in his hands.

"So other people have figured out a way to mimic it, huh? I'll be damned." Having said that, Greed walked over to the corner of the bar and leanded against it after laying the sphere on it. "By the way, I've been meaning to ask. What are you? I've never seen anything like you in my life." Seeing the new man enter the lounge, Greed looked him over, but looked back to Aethion rather quickly.

"The events that lead to her becoming Archmage were even more noteworthy. Sadly, I fail to remember the details, but she saved the college from what would be its destruction." Erica explained, trying and failing to remember just what had happened. Hearing Clover, Eriica looked towards him and lightly shook her head. "That is absurd... Now would you please stop frightening the poor creature?"

Carmen took a small sip of her wine, narrowing her eyes slightly. [color=bb0066] "...What do you mean 'might as well'? If it's not magic, what else could it be? ...Augmentations?" [/color]

"Achoo, not until..." Clover broke out into a sneezing fit when the cat jumped at a dangling string on his shirt

"I am not well studied in Alteration magic, so I do not know the details. However, I do not think it is quite the same. Mages who use the spells can harden their skin to mimic oak, stone, iron or even dragonbone." Aethion corrected Greed. "Though it is just as effective at warding off blows. As to what I am? I am an Altmer, or High Elf. We hail from the isle of Alinor, in Tamriel."

"This descendant of mine must be a formidable woman indeed." Drayven replied. "It is good to hear that such a person still lives in Tamriel in your time. There is hope for us to survive the darkness of the coming years after all then."

"Its more like...science I guess...But it makes no difference what you call it to me." Jack said after taking his on long drink.

"Hey, buddy, you know where I am?" the man asked as he looked over at Greed. He was still hunched over the bar and holding his head.

Carmen blinked a bit before sighing and nodding. [color=bb0066] "I see. How did you come across these abilities then...?" [/color]

OoC @Berk: Would Aethion know of the Dragonskin spell? Given that was a creation of Tolfdir.

"Well, fancy that... I wonder if I could apply those things to what I can do already." Greed paused to ponder the posibilities, his trai of thought interupted when the man spoke. "Didn't you get the announcement when you entered? This here's the something-or-other Interdimensional Arena." he answered, then looked back to Aethion. "An elf, eh? And here I was thinking those only appeared in storybooks. Guess there's truth to the saying that fiction is based on fact."

"That she was." Erica remarked, nodding with a small smile on her face. "I admired her greatly. This darkness you speak of, however, are you refering to the return of the dragons, or the violation of the... the.." Erica trailed off, lightly tapping her forehead with her right index finger. So embarassing... "The treaty between the Aldmeri Dominion and the Empire?"

"Found em in bottles." Jack replied as he shook his wine bottle, now empty.

"...Is that anywhere close to Columbia?" the man asked Greed as he looked over at him completely.

Greed looked somewhat confused at the man for a moment, but then shook his head. "Never heard of that place, but it's safe to say the answer's no."
The man would find little remarkable about Greed, given that his violet eyes with the slitted pupils were hidden behind his shades.

Seeing the kitten play with the string dangling from Clover's outfit, Erica chuckled lightly.

Carmen blinked a bit before simply sighing and taking a long swig. [color=bb0066] "...So you simply drank/injected yourself with something and gained these abilities... Interesting..." [/color]

OOC: @Nailik Was it? Damn. Never had the time for Alteration magic myself, to be honest. Although since it was 4E 219 when Drayven and Aethion came to the arena, 15 years after the death of Alduin, it's entirely possible that Tolfdir might have published his work on the spell for the general use of mages since then.

"Elves do not exist where you come from? That is... strange to imagine. We are almost as numerous as humans in Tamriel, though our races are rather more diverse."

Drayven shook his head, his expression becoming more grim.
"I am afraid it is a more personal threat than that. My wife and I, and by extent our children, and the bannermen and vassals that pledge fealty to us share a relatively benign attitude towards humans and others considered inferior by the Aldmeri Dominion at large. This, as well as some of my more controversial political actions have led to a great deal of animosity on behalf of certain other powerful families in Alinor. I know that some of them conspire against us, and I fear that they will seek to move against us in the coming years. This is why I have my eldest son training here. He must be ready to lead men in battle as I once did if they come to destroy us."

"That's right." Jack said with a nod as he tossed away his wine bottle and took another one.

"Fantastic...[sub]How am I suppose to find the girl now...[/sub]" the man said, mumbling the last part.

The cat than got up on to his shoulder "Achoo, achoo. Told you, achoo, achooo,achoo he was, achoo, achoo evil!"

Makes sense though.

"Nope. Humans are pretty much the only sentient beings where I come from. That is, unless you count those that were created, such as myself. Even if the exsistance of such things aren't exactly known by the general public." Greed remarked, then looked back to the man that was standing near him. "Eh. It's not so bad here. Just be prepared to fight some folk every now and again."

Erica bowed her head respectfully. "I see... I wish I could tell you how the events will unfold, but alas. I know next to nothing of the history of Alinor." Having said that, Erica held her silence for a moment before saying, "Excuse me for a moment." Getting up, she walked over to Clover and extended a hand towards the kitten, meaning to see how it would react.

Carmen simply facepalmed. [color=bb0066] ...Of course, I'm speaking to the man who nearly drank this entire bar's stock in one go. Of course he'd happen upon things like that... Probably poisons and the like as well. Through fool's luck, he managed to live through ingesting them and gained a resistance... Ugh, humans can be so utterly idiotic at times. [/color]

She downed a good amount of her drink in one go before sighing again.
