Ragnar groaned.
"Emperor-damned coward." Lowering his head and bracing himself, he charged like an enraged bull through the grenades, fighting to keep his balance as they exploded around and against him. Revving his chainsword, he uncoiled to his full height and bellowed as he closed with the Meta again.

 

[Kirke]

The Meta also charged headlong into combat, with his bruteshot held high with the point against Ragnar. If Ragnar attacked with his chainsword, he'd parry with it and then tackle Ragnar. If Ragnar did not attack with the chainsword, he'd stab against Ragnar's throat as they collided.

Either way, he'd be knocked back several metres after impact, Ragnar was much heavier than himself.

Ragnar slahed at Meta's face with the chainsword, charging flat-out.

 

[Kirke]

The Meta twisted his bruteshot, parrying the slash before getting thrown back. He flew back a few meters, landing on his back and sliding another two metres. He stabbed his bruteshot into the ground to slow himself down, then got back up.

 

[Random berk]

Ragnar kept the pressure on the Meta, charging into him with his chainsword flying as the Meta was getting to his feet.

[color=80bb00] "Hmmm..... Alright, lemme calm down a little bit then." [/color] Pix stated as they walked the empty hallway. The vibrations slowly but surely stopped as Pix took a deep breath and then let out a sigh. [color=80bb00] "Since I'm not the one who can talk here, I'll follow your lead... Let's just hope this doesn't end up being boring." [/color]

OOC: @Kirke22: Would the Meta even have had time to do that? Ragnar was still running at him the whole time that he was sliding and then getting up, and I doubt it would take him more than a second to cover 5 metres at a flat out sprint, if even that.

The Meta stopped halfway through getting up, staying on one knee and making a straight punch against Ragnar's kneecap while holding the knife in his left hand to parry an incoming blow.

Ragnar's bent back to it's furthest extent and locked due to his armour's design, and at the same time the chainsword's teeth caught the knife's blade and wrenched it violently out of the Meta's hand. Although the punch could not dislocate Ragnar's knee however, it spoiled his stride quite nicely, and he bellowed in surprise and rage as he lurched over the Meta and hit the ground hard, rolling several times before coming to a halt on his side. Immediately he began to scramble to his feet, firing wildly at the Meta with his bolter as he did so.

The Meta snatched up his bruteshot and turned, running at Ragnar and firing the last grenade loaded before leaping up into the air and coming down with a rather brutal stab. In mid air, he made a flip to narrowly avoid an incoming bolter round.

 

[Random berk]

Ragnar let the grenade strike him and throw him to the ground, now knowing that although it would hurt like hell, it could not breach his armour. Auto-senses eliminating the disorienting effects of the blast, he took his bolter in both hands as he lay on his back, knowing that he would not defeat this foe without wagering his life to do so. Waiting until the Meta was in free fall and briefly unable to dodge or fight back, he aimed carefully and unleashed a fully automatic stream of bolter shells to meet the Meta head-on.

The Meta pulled the bruteshot in front of him to shield him from the bolter rounds. The first round, exploding on the very hard surface of the bruteshot, knocked the Meta downwards. This did mean that he was unable to fulfil his attack, but as he fell, time slowed down and froze. The Meta landed, reloaded and took aim, then time sped up once more and it would seem like the Meta had simply teleported. He opened fire to keep Ragnar busy as he closed in.

OoC: From what I recall, the bolter rounds were not armour-piercing. I just assumed that they would explode on impact if they can't push forward any more.

OOC: There are plenty of bolter types, one of which is armour piercing, but the standard rounds aren't.


Ragnar was just getting up as the grenades hammered him to the ground again.
"Emperor, what does it take to kill this bastard?" He groaned against the pain.

 

[Kirke]

The Meta came up to Ragnar as he had emptied his clip of six. He stomped down on the marine's sword-arm wrist, quickly following up with a stab against the elbow joint. During this, he was in a low, almost crouching posture, to hopefully get out of the bolter's field of fire.

 

[Random berk]

The bruteshot's blade struck between the ceramite shell of Ragnar's upper and lower arm, met with a moment's resistance from the amroured seals, then pierced through the material and through the joint of Ragnar's elbow. He screamed through gritted teeth. With his other hand he grasped something on the Meta's armour and dragged him down to try and headbutt him, trying not to writhe on the blade and do further damage to his ruined elbow.

Spoiler: If Ragnar grabbed with the injured arm:

The Meta got down on one knee, letting go of the bruteshot and placing one hand on Ragnar to stop himself from getting pulled down any further. With the other, he took the now discarded chainsword, revving it up for a moment and then lunging it into the armpit.

Spoiler: If Ragnar grabbed with the other arm:

The Meta let go of the bruteshot with one hand, going down on one knee and placing it on Ragnar to counteract the grapple. With the other, he wrenched the bruteshot around to cause further damage.

 

[Random berk]

Ragnar bellowed as the Meta twisted the bruteshot, blood welling up the blade and congealing quickly as the Larraman cells got to work. Ragnar ripped his hand away from where he'd been holding the armour and grabbed the Meta by the throat, dragging him closer and trying to choke him. Then, he did something the Meta was unlikely to expect. Through the helmet, distorted by the mechanics of the vox-emitter and Ragnar's pain, he could hear laughter.

 

[Kirke]

The Meta hissed slowly, his neck muscles tightening as he tried to withstand the heavy pressure on his throat. While momentarily successful, it'd obviously not work for any length of time. He reached for the chainsword with one hand while grabbing hold of Ragnar's wrist with the other, trying to pull it away from his throat. If he could wrench the chainsword from Ragnar's grasp, he would rev it up and slash at the marine's uninjured arm.

 

[Random berk]

Ragnar held on in a deathgrip, resisting the Meta with all his strength.
"Death... to the Traitor legions." He snarled, and motioned with his helmet at the point on the Meta's armour where he had first grabbed. One of the Meta's remaining grenades was primed and blinking out the last of its countdown sequence.
