Plucked from its home world, a new "participant" emerged, straight into the arena. Confused and in more then one way, disturbed by the sudden change in surroundings, the creature made a noise that started out in a mid-pitch hum and shifted into a low gurgling noise, looking around as it uttered this noise.

The creature was far from human, and even humanoid; Looking like what appeared to be a floating organic mass that vaguely resembled a head. It had grayscaled red-ish skin with purple veins being visible through it, six green eyes located on either side of its head, with a seventh eye being in the centre of its forehead. Parts of the top of its head were covered in a translucent green skin with blots in a lighter green scattered across it, and the back of its head was covered in a light green translucent skin. From underneath what appeared to be the "cheek bones", two slick tentacles sprouted from either side, and from its "eye sockets" what appeared to be insect-like appendages sprouted.
Under the head, what appeared to be a hollowed out ribcage covered in sickly-looking brown skin was seen, the inside of which was lined with dozens of pores, and a segmented tail covered in pale beige skin grew from where the ribcage connected to the head.

In the opposite end of the arena, a man appeared. He looked around, confused, until he saw the abomination. He let out a gasp of horror, and pulled his walking stick up in front of himself.

He was wearing a thick piece of winter clothing, similar to an anorak. Connected to it was a dark blue hood with a thick red line down the middle. On his hands he wore padded leather gloves, and in those hands he held a straight wooden staff roughly his own length.

"Two contestants have appeared, it is time to do battle!"

As the battle was commenced, the floor of the arena shook lightly. Then, thick walls of yellow stone rose from the ground, extending all the way to the ceiling. The collection of walls formed a somewhat complex labyrinth, of which the walls were spaced two and a half metres apart from one another. Light from the ceiling still shone down, providing decent visibility, with the exception of some dark corner spread throughout the labyrinth.

One wall separated the two combatants, the two needing to move three metres to what was the left for the abomination, and right for the man for them to meet one another.

For the time, the abomination only floated in place, too taken aback by what was all happening to do much more then process it all, although the fact that it wasn't alone didn't escape it.

Junkil, as the man was called, closed his eyes and breathed in and out slowly. After a few seconds, he held the staff out vertically in front of him and thumbed it into the ground. The ground rumbled, then the block of stone between the two contestants began vibrating. The block began cracking, and pebbles fell onto the ground.

Adjusting to what had just occurred some - whose name was Au'kultz - let out another humming noise. It still didn't understand what was happening, but it knew one thing - There was an opponent to vanquish. It would set out to do just that.

Au'kultz sensed where Junkil was, but had no desire to move around the wall to get to him. Instead, it became intangible, it's body taking on an green, ethereal appearance, shifting and shimmering slightly in the air. Descending, Au'kultz sank into the ground and continued until it was half a metre beneath it, then move towards Junkil, moving to the wall behind him, and ascending inside it. When it had floated up some four metres, Au'kultz silently floated out of the wall, and became a physical entity again.

Now behind and above Junkil, Au'kultz made a gurgling noise, which was Junkil's only warning signal if he hadn't noticed Au'kultz's position already, as shortly after this, it sprayed 500 millilitres worth of brown-ish liquid at him from the pores in its "ribcage", the liquid mostly aimed at Junkil's upper back and shoulders with reasonable accuracy.
The liquid would rot any organic substances it came into contact with, and corrode inorganic matter, at a rate of one gramme of matter per 25 millilitres.

Junkil turned when he heard a gurgling noise, opening his eyes and slashing with his staff at the beast. The block behind him stopped vibrating, and a strong gust of wind blew at Au'kultz to deflect the incoming liquid. With a deep breath, Junkil then closed his eyes and smashed the end of his staff against the ground. With a loud crack, the block behind him shattered into many head-sized parts and was launched at the abomination. Junkil opened his eyes and spoke, "I do not know what you are, or why I am here with you. But you are clearly something unnatural, a monster. You must die.", he said with a surprisingly serene voice.

Other then it being moved by the winds, Au'kultz didn't move as its fluids were redirected to it, allowing itself to be struck by it. The fluid had no effect on Au'kultz itself, but Junkil could see the effects the fluid would normally have on the places where it blew against the stone.

Seeing the stones hurled towards it, Au'kultz "jumped" through space in a short-range teleport, moving a metre forwards, closer to Junkil, to where the stones were spread out less, and two metres downwards. As a secondary function of the teleport, meant to disorient a opponent, an afterimage of Au'kultz was left where it had been before, which would remain in place for roughly a second.

As the stones slammed into the wall behind it, Au'kultz made another short gurgling noise, quickly followed by it spraying more of its decay-inducing fluid at Junkil, in the same volume as it had done before, now aimed at Junkil's eyes and surrounding area.

Junkil dropped down to all four, now fully aware of the danger the liquid presented. Curiously, the staff remained upright, and seemed rooted in the ground. He pushed up with his hands and, standing on his knees, pushed his hands out and let loose another gust of wind. This gust was far greater in strength than the last one, actually making some of the rocks and stones on the ground roll. It stopped after roughly five seconds, whereupon Junkil got back on his feet.

Hovering, and having very little mass to it, Au'kultz was blown against the wall behind it, knocking against, hard. It let out a high-pitched hum as thin streaks of some form of vivid green energy left it where it struck the wall. It didn't seem to be dazed, however, and rather then be pinned against the wall, Au'kultz became intangible once more, and passed through the wall.

As it did before, Au'kultz moved to the ground through the wall, then moved towards Junkil. It positioned itself so that its "face" was turned upwards, looking at Junkil's position, seeing him despite being underground. Rather then move to be above Junkil again, Au'kultz rose from the ground behind him, no further then 20cm away, and became physical once fully risen. Small streams of the green energy still floated out of the back of Au'kult's head, possibly betraying its position.

From behind Junkil, Au'kultz would swing its tail at Junkil's lower back, the stinger on the tail faintly glowing green. The stinger itself would bypass physical matter, and so strike true unless dodged, or the still-physical part of the tail was struck.

If it connected, Au'kultz would begin to drain Junkil's lifeforce. This would have the effect of aging him physically, at a rate of ten years per second.

Junkil stood still, looking but not seeing his foe. When it had risen up right behind him however, he felt its presence and spun around. He called out in terror and a bolt of lightning shot from his upheld hand at Au'kultz. He did not move to dodge the stinger, aside from an involuntary step back, but when it connected a strong current would shoot into the abomination.

Unable to react fast enough to Junkil raising his hand, Au'kultz was hit dead-on by the lightning bolt, being struck on the right side of its "face" in-between its "nose" and appendage. Uttering a shrill shriek, Au'kultz recoiled backwards, dislodging its stinger from Junkil. Where the lightning bolt had struck, Au'kultz face was all but incinerated, green energy stream from the hole. Around the hole, ad well as portions of its tail were blackened, its tail less so. While it sustained massive shocks, Au'kultz didn't seem paralyzed, however.

Although the contact was brief, Au'kultz still managed to absorb some of Junkil's lifeforce, which it saved, for now.

Whether or not the psychological effects of ageing several years in a short space made Junkil waver or not, Au'kultz pressed on its attack, spraying 500 more millilitres of its fluid was Junkil's head. With the damage it had sustained, Au'kultz's aim took a hit, which it tried to make up for by tracing the stream down from the the top of the head, to roughly where Junkil's collar was.

Junkil staggered back, looking down at his hands with shock. When another bolt of lightning lashed out at Au'kultz, and several others shot out from Junkil in random directions, he did not seem in control of them. He wrenched to the side just in time to avoid most of the stream, but screamed as it bit into his left shoulder. He staggered back further, looking at the rot in his shoulder. His face contorted in anger and he yelled out "Die!" as he raised his right arm. From his palm a cone of roaring flames burst out towards Au'kultz.

While it was paying closer attention to Junkil's movements now that it knew he could fire lightning from his hands, Au'kultz wasn't prepared for the bolts firing out seemingly without Junkil's input. The bolt struck Au'kultz on the left side of its "mouth", making it utter another pained shriek as a second hole was blasted in its "face", green energy streaming from it, which began to dim.

Tumbling about through the air as it recovered from being struck, Junkil wouldn't have a terrible hard time hitting it with the flame cone. Au'kultz's exposure to the fire was brief, however, as it turned intangible to avoid the steadily widening cone. The brief exposure left Aukultz's front only mildly burned.

Floating closer to Junkil in a jittery manner, Au'kultz would move to Junkil's right, and return to a physical state. Fully expecting Junkil to adjust his aim, Au'kultz jumped through space, to Junkil's left, leaving an afterimage where it had been. From here, Aukultz swung its glowing tail stinger at Junkil's chest in an attempt to drain more lifeforce, although the damage it had sustained made its strike sluggish and clumsy.

Junkil kept 'firing' at the abomination, but was fooled by the afterimage, having turned to his left. When the stinger hit then, he gasped with pain and the flames sputtered out. The abomination would not come out unharmed either, as another current of electricity flowed through the stinger into it.

Without first being struck by an outward lightning bolt, Au'kultz managed to keep its stinger lodged inside Junkil for a little for a short time longer, until the electrical current burned off the stinger, and further charred the rest of the tail to the point where smaller pieces started to fall off. Fortunately for Junkil, the burned tail remnants faded away as it was separated from the body, thus preventing Junkil from having foreign body stuck in his. Unfortunately for him, the time Au'kultz spend draining him resulted in him ageing the ten years, and a few months.

Now without a tail, Au'kultz lost most of its combat effectiveness. Thus, it decided to put the drained lifeforce to use. Turning intangible, Au'kultz sank through the floor, then moved to the opposite side of the left wall, and rose again, becoming physical. Using the lifeforce, Au'kultz restored the tail stinger, although hadn't enough lifeforce to do much more then that, leaving the rest of the tail painfully burned.
Au'kultz tactical withdrawal and healing did provide Junkil a moment to recover, emotionally, however.

With its tail mostly restored, Au'kultz turned intangible once more, and slipped underground, moving towards Junkil.

Junkil fell down to his knees and closed his eyes. It took all of his discipline to push away the fear in his mind and instead let memories of love and compassion fill it. His skin began shining as his wounds were healed, and his anger and fear purged from his mind. Now feeling completely at peace, he placed his hands on the ground. It rumbled and shook, then a wide pillar of rock pushed up underneath him. It stopped three metres up in the air, and once there Junkil stood up. He began focusing on a particular part of the stone wall, compressing it and building up tension.

Moving towards Junkil, Au'kultz noticed him moving up. While it could see Junkil through obstacles just fine, it couldn't see things that weren't alive, and didn't know how Junkil had moved to where he was. Moving back towards the area where the two had fought, Au'kultz stayed underground for a moment, considering how to go about the situation, as well as re-evaluating its strategy in dealing with the man.

Taking note of the direction Junkil faced, Au'kultz moved to the opposite side, then began ascending. It took note to the rumbling noise, but didn't pay its too much mind. Carefully watching Junkil as it ascended, going through the motions of going through the pillar and returning to a physical state on the other side of Junkil turned. When it reached up to about the height of Junkil's lower back, Au'kultz uttered the gurgling noise that came before it spraying the decay-inducing, and sprayed roughly 400 millilitres of itt his right hamstring, making up for its waning accuracy by being fairly up close.

When Au'kultz gurgled, Junkil glanced behind him and saw the freakish creature. He stepped sideways towards the very edge of the pillar in order to avoid the attack he knew was coming. At the same time, the head-sized rock in the wall shot out as the pressure became too high. It flew against Au'kultz at high speed.

As Junkil back-pedalled, Au'kultz floated to his his eye level, aiming to press on its attack and drive him off the edge of the pillar it stood on. It had minimal attention fixed on the wall it noticed the rumbling coming from the wall, and with its focus being on the sloppy side with the damage it had sustained, couldn't react in time to the stone flying out as fast as it did.

Being hit by it in the side, the stone pushed Au'kultz along until it slammed into the opposite wall, a sizeable amount of the green energy flashing from it as this happened. When the stone fell, Au'kultz fell with it, flattened. Soon after this, its body faded away, as it was vanquished.

Junkil sighed and sat down on his pillar. He sat there for a moment, before being startled by a loud voice. "Cease! All living contestants, please proceed to the exit." Not having much of a choice, Junkil did as the voice said, walking through a thick steel door that had revealed itself as the arena reformed itself to a flat and dusty battleground.
