Hey, as fellow Total War players, can I ask your guys' opinion? My friend says there's no way you can have a Total War 40k. I disagree because I want to see what I can do with some Primaris marines.
But to be fair, he's more of the mind that Games Workshop would never allow it because as 40k is their biggest cash cow, having a cheaper way to do battles would undercut their bottom line. I can't help but to agree to that, but I feel like it could still be profitable in many ways. Some people just really like collecting and painting!
My dream 40k Strategy game is not a Total War style game, but say an ambitous Turned Based Strategy game

To summerize the thread, I want it to be like say a bigger scale X-Com/Fire Emblem, with the Story Presentation of Starcraft 2 and the acting of Dawn of War. And every battle animation is unique to each unit.
And it will have all the Major factions and I would split the DLC like this:
Start of the game: Space Marines (Ultramarines), Imperial Guard (8th Cadians), Orks, Chaos Space Marines (Black Legion).
DLC 1: Eldar and Dark Eldar. (Eldar vs Dark Eldar themed)
DLC 2: Necrons and Tyranids. (Aliens and Robots)
DLC 3: Adeptus Mechanicus and Tau Empire. (Mecha vs Mecha)
DLC 4: Sisters of Battle and Daemons of Chaos. (Heaven and Hell themed)
Free DLC would be the unique Space Marines like the Space Wolves and Chaos Space Marine chapters like the Thousand Sons.
