One... oh... very dear. I wonder how the Escapist's 'friendly Sister of Battle' will take that. If it's anything like the Grey Knights, faith points will be pure pwnage...
Only a rumor I heard from some of the Store Staff. Then again, I know people who say he's working on 'Crons, Tau...basically every codex and the kitchen sink. All I can confirm is some old news about him updating the Black Templars (again, another ironic choice given he gave them the finger for disagreeing with the Smurfs. Incidentally, anyone thinking him updating the SoB's a bit ironic as well, given his habit of slaughtering more of them than Guardsmen?), but until I have a copy in my hands I can't comment further.

And as for Phil... I don't think he did write the 4Ed SM (Andy Chambers?), he did the 4Ed rulebook and Space Wolves, IIRC.

Ah no, I got it wrong. It was a joint written project between Pete Haines and Graham McNeil. For the record, I prefer the 4th Ed Codex over the current 5th Ed one, especially since you could add some flavor to the Marines in a similar flavor to the IG Doctrines system at the time

Well, we live in hope/despair, I guess. I'd like more Graham McNeil codices, actually (I think he did the Harlequins mini-codex, which was awesome).

I liked the 4th Ed SM codex too, though the 5th Ed was more in line with the Ultramarine bent of the chapter layout. However, it removed all customisability from army lists, which was a bit gay. Back in 4th Ed, I once ran an army with six units of devastators in a bitching gun line, that was cool. But, the characters from 5th Ed are decent enough and have the whole chapter tactics thing, though most of them are rather boring (Stubborn, Fleet, Outflank, TL-F & M weapons just doesn't really have much individuality to it, though Fleeting Assault Terminators is just hilarious). And 5th Ed nerfed my Dark Angels... I proceeded to weep since the cost of bikes was ridiculous (35pts vs 25pts). :(

If Matt is writing it, I will eat my G2 Alternators Shockwave I keep on my desk.

Yeah, I preferred the Chapter Traits system - as opposed to the IG Doctrines (where every guard army I saw ALWAYS took the Carapace Armour Doctrine), the Marine ones were balanced (mainly by adding points to already expensive models, and the fact you had to take a disadvantage as well) and simple enough to use (save maybe the "Scions of Mars" trait - never fully did understand that one) and encouraged custom chapters etc.

With a bit of a stretch though, you could use them to create chapters like the Dark Angels and Space Wolves with a bit of cleaver thinking and creative choices (Example: the traits "Take the fight to them" (allowing Tactical Marines with Boltguns to exchange them for a Bolt Pistol and Close Combat Weapon) and "No Mercy, No Respite" (for +3pts a Model, Tactical and Assault Squads could be given Furious Charge) with the Disadvantage Eye to Eye (May only take a maximum of One Land Speeder, Bike or Attack Bike Squadron) and Death Before Dishonor (The Salamanders old gimmick of getting an extra turn on a 4+, but inverted to it being your opponent's decision instead of yours) could be used as one example to represent Space Wolves - the possibilities however are pretty endless).

As a side note, 4th Ed Space Marines is so far the ONLY codex to give the Blood Ravens an actual Canon mention.

I swear I remember an offhand mention in the new BAs codex, but I could be deluded.

What? No love for Dark Heresy or (the recent version of) Rogue Trader? Grimdark tabletop roleplaying! Gotta love it! Especially with sub-systems like Insanity and Corruption, and the Critical Damage charts.
What's that? 10 points of Critical Impact Damage to the face? Not only does the head explode in a shower of gore and cause everyone nearby to potentially lose their turn due to wiping said gore from their eyes, but the bullet has the chance of hitting the guy standing behind the poor unlucky bastard (or lucky, depending on your point of view, since he no longer has eyes to wipe gore out of).

I'm running a campaign online and a campaign in person. Generally my players enjoy themselves quite a bit, despite the GRIMDARK.
I'd suggest checking out the rulebooks for these systems. There's also one for Space Marines called Deathwatch, but meh to that! The SPESS MAUREENS are total Mary Sues.

Possibly, but then I haven't really read the Blood Angels codex in full. Having said that, I find that very doubtful, despite the similair sounding names (if anything, some of the background anvils dropped (most notably in the HH Novel "Thousand Sons") seems to imply their a Thousand Sons Successor Chapter rather than a Blood Angels one).
