It could be a planet contaminated by the warp, where the humans have learned sorcery. Slightly contrived though - the idea of them being totally separate makes more sense.

On a related side note, can anyone in WHF learn magic, or only certain 'touched' individuals?
I think that's one that can draw similarities from the WH40K universe: you're either born with it... or you're not. Though (don't quote me on this, as you can tell, I'm more a 40K fan) I haven't come across the equivalent of pariahs (e.g. blanks/Culexus etc.) unless you count the entire Dwarven race, but I don't think that counts.

*blows your head off with a bolter round*

EDIT: I have always loved the cockyness of the Eldar despite the fact they really do have sod all to be smug about.

At the moment I'm in the process of building a custom Eldar army hoping to make them a group sent to reclaim the soul stones from Matan'tai Craftworld and the Grey knights waiting for them and make it functional again (Not sure what I mean, go to Lexicanum and look up Hive Fleet Naga.) though I'm pretty sure someone will hate that idea and tell me not to make my own story to my army :p

As for is WHF part of the W40K universe though it has similarities I would say it isn't the past :/ it is possibly part of the present in an undiscovered world but I'd go with saying they are seperate universes.

Also why are we Eldar arrogant? Have you seen our ears?... I mean come on it's all about the ears people, that and Ynnead may be the only hope you have to kill the great enemy.

Whoa, good luck there, mate. GK's currently wipe the floor with most army lists out there (Paladins + Apothecary may be expensive, but its' nigh unkillable against take-on-all-comer lists, and when combined with Interceptors and base Terminator squads, it can deal with most non-vehicle threats). Unless you're running psyker free (methinks you definitely need Jain Zar/Maugan Ra or Prince Yriel at the very least), you'll have a hard time.

What's in your list? Can give you some tips.

As for the fluff, nothing wrong with that. I'm constantly trying to crowbar my own fictional universe into the WH40K one (a race of psykers, ironically).

So far? A friend of mine is painting me up a Ranger sqaud (Pathfinders) and Dire Avengers + Farseer, I have a Sqaud of Gaurdians with a Bright Lance turret and have recently bought a Falcon Grav tank (of which I was hoping to combine with some Banshee's for transport) and buy some Fire Dragons after that I hadn't decided quite yet I was thinking of getting a Fire Prism and then updating my Aspect warrior choices.

I wasn't thinking of a fight as qouted from Lex - "After N'Kari was defeated, the majority of the Grey Knight strike force departed back to Titan with the bodies of their fallen. However, a score of Knights remained behind on Malan'tai, in order to guard the remaining spirit stones until another craftworld could be contacted to retrieve them." So I assumed the GK's were willing to give them over and leave without a fight though I may have interpreted it wrong :/

I must've missed that... though to be fair, my knowledge of more intricate fluff is a bit lacking (honestly, that doesn't bother me in the slightest).

Anyway, uh, I take it this is going to be a generic all purpose list:

HQ: Farseer (will recommend my load out: Spirit Stones, Doom, Fortune, don't bother with the runes as (s)he's got enough protection from PotW with the Ghosthelm, I think that's what it's called...)
Troops: Pathfinders are a tad expensive for what they do (24pts/model for 5+ rending has to be well handled, I personally wouldn't bother with the PF upgrade, but that's just me and I use Scout snipers like I do MSG in my noodles)
DAs, fine, but I've always found it odd how everyone goes for a lance with Guardian Defenders since it's a one shot with BS 3. I take the ScatLas as it's cheaper and gets you lots of shots (the one mistake I always make is that it's 4 shots... not 3!) and at longer range.
Elites: mmmm, six Banshees in a Falcon is not worth it IMO, put the Dragons in the Falcon and put 8+ Banshees in a... bugger, forgotten what the main Eldar transport's called (Wave Serpent, that's it). I take Harlequins (an acquired taste, but mine's purely to act as bullet-magnet while my Storm Guardians and Wraithlord wreck peoples' shit.)
And of course, you need a bit of heavy support: Wraithlord, as mentioned (mine's kitted with Lance/ScatLas, which is better due to BS 4, though I always end up kicking things to death instead of shooting). You could go for 3 War Walkers and chuck an eclectic mix, because they'll always shoot all six weapons (6 Shuriken Cannons at 30 pts is not a pretty sight to deal with, cheap as hell, to top it off)

So, now that I've basically given you my entire 1750 list, I expect you to be able to come over and kick my arse!

Enjoy, and hope this helped.

That sounds... Ward-tastic.

/Grumbles about nonsense fluff.
