On the plus side, by the time this comes out we will have 2 excellent DC animated movies out. Son of Batman is almost out now so we might even have 3.

Seriously though, no matter how bad the DC live action stuff blows I'll always take solace in the fact that the DCAU blows the Marvel animated stuff out of the water. IMO it blows a lot of the Marvel live action stuff out of the water too, but that's a matter of preference.

So they're probably going with established box office people, like David Goyer, who has no idea how to write superheroes or heroism, but loves writing about conflicted emo-murderers.
Ugh. David Goyer is a hack. He's like the Stephen King of the film industry. He can't write worth a goddamn but everyone just eats his shit up anyway because OMG HE'S DAVID GOYER. If there's one thing I can't stand, it's people who are legitimately bad at something but people adore them anyway for some stupid reason. Stephen King, Justin Beiber, M. Knight Shamalan, etc. They overshadow the actual talent and don't allow it to shine.

Live action Justice League for when one or two emo superheroes just isn't enough.

If the DC movies get any more depressing and suck the fun out of movies any harder they are going to have to start handing out razor blades instead of 3D glasses with the purchase of a ticket.

Wow! WB/DC is really dipping into the talent pool of directors by hiring the same guy that fucked up Man of Steel and is currently fucking up Superman/Batman (or whatever its being called) who happens to be an over-hyped douche-bag towards people who actually know these characters better than he does. This is less "Thinking outside the box" and more "Making incredibly stupid decisions with your head stuffed up your ass."

This is just getting more embarrassing for both DC Comics and Warner Bros. I would say they're constantly employing methods and business decisions that are as outdated as the Betamax, but, then again, the Betamax still have a purpose. The whole "make everyone and everything like Batman" is about as useless as putting breast implants on a bulldog.

Huh, didn't one of their PR guys say that this wasn't the case? Must suck being out of the loop like that, but still a big enough mark to question and quote. Poor dude.

OT: Well I for one am rooting for them. Yeah Marvel had the whole "planned from the start" strategy and marketed their cinematic universe flawlessly, but so what. Given their track record DC/WB do not have the vision or the talent behind them to replicate Marvel's success so let them gamble. Who knows it might just work.

Either way, I'll keep an out for this film if/when it ever releases; BvS isn't due till 2 years from now no? Shoot, by then most of us would have forgotten about this.

Could they have picked a worse director to handle it? Oh well, everyone buckle up and grab your buckets of popcorn, this train wreck is going to be magnificent.
Well, it could've been Uwe Bol or Tommy Wiseau...

Yeah, I had to go there to find a worse director.

4. Flash - He's being explained in the TV show "Arrow" (it's a sorry sight) and he's supposedly getting a spin-off. Whether or not that ties into the movie-verse it gets the audience up to speed on who he is, how he works, and what he does.
Hush you heretic, Arrow is going strong and getting better with each episode. At least Tv DC is succeeding where movie DC is floundering.

Anyways, this seems a little rushed and i wished they'd introduce the other core members with their own movies first before going for the bug guns. I do they don't go down the realistic grimdark path as well.

Also, time for my little rant:

Arrow is good, I meant that the Flash is a sorry sight, have you seen the pictures? Who would have guess that hiring a chickenshit from Glee and skimping on the costume budget would make for a steam pile of pig shit?

I wonder when we can expect his voice to crack.

In action. Oh sweet Jesus, this best not be what the Flash looks like in the fucking movie.

Ah, you meant Flash. sorry for the heretic thing~
Well i think the costume looks decent considering CW doesn't have the best budge and it fits the more grounded world Arrow built(though super science and magic might get introduced eventually). I would need see a video to have a better opinion.
Hell, if this show is good and has decent ratings CW might consider for a bigger budget, allowing a possibility for Flash getting a suit upgrade at the end of his first season or later on.
The actor for Barry seemed ok, but we'll see if he can hold up a show.

I'm staying cautiously optimistic.

Sorry WB, you lost me at Zack Snyder. I don't want to see anything with him at the directorial helm.

DC should stick to animation.

Their various animated direct to DVD features are awesome, and even the weaker ones are leagues ahead of Man of Steel and the likes.
A very good point which I'd like to tie to this:

I have seen/own most of those movies. And yes, I liked them all. Especially Wonder Woman. That alone made excited to hear they were making a live action for star spangled warrior (On a side note, isn't she remarkably similar to Captain America. While I don't know which came first they share the color scheme and pathos) but then that went south quickly.

Look here, I love comics for the same reason I love books in general; the stories. Combine that with good art and you've got some decent entertainment. But the truth is comics are like soap operas. There's alot of back story, twists, betrayals, rebirths, long lost twins, forgotten loves, etc. To put it another way the characters are more than just their powers, their history and drama is what we enjoy. When people try to put these books to film they often gut that which made them so popular. Then they water it down or condense what's left into something easier for non-comic readers to understand and get behind. This isn't a bad thing, but the process leaves very little meat on the bone. Those that follow the books are disappointed, and those that are new are barely satisfied. As many stated Avengers worked because Marvel took their time to build up each character in their own film (expect Hawk and Hulk when you think about it.) By combining the storylines they further cemented the overall story arc. This Superman/Batman movie seems to be planting the seeds for the next film which means it needs to flesh out the characters (aside from Superman of course)

It feels like I should be more excited than I am about this.
Me too, if this announcement happened 5 years ago, I would be like yes yes yes yes yes yes...

But now what I feel is meh.

Considering WB track record of live action DC movies that isn't about Batman is kinda shit, I am pessimistic about this movie and expecting this to suck.

As someone already said above me pessimism is tiring.

Zack Snyder is a great director... when he works with the already established story. 300? Was good. Watchmen? Was fucking awesome? Man of Steel? Eh...
The idea of doing Justice League without league member's standalone movies is stupid.

Meh, might amuse. Nothing else to do wait and see.
The superman movie amused as me a destruction spectacle... though it sucked as a superman story.

But what strikes me the most is how that image really screams "I need a new costume!" with all those heroes wearing their underwear on their pants, instead of the other way around.

At least the movies gave Batman and Superman good looking costumes.
