I would love to see WB/DC finally figure out what to do with their rather large stable of superheroes NOT named Bat-something or other (what's the name of that character?). I mean, Marvel came out with Iron Man, not exactly as well known as say Spider-Man, but obviously not bottom of the barrel like Kaleidoscope Man. Between that and choosing RDJ to play the lead, Marvel belted one out of the park.

Meanwhile, back at the Hall of Justice...we'll have "The Dark Knight Rises to Kick Superman's Ass" next year to look forward to. Oy vey.

-Just my 2 cents worth.

Well i know there was news that the next Batman movie will have Wonder Woman in it. Looks like DC/WB have zero confidence in their characters so have to add Batman to each one. Only problem with that is it means every single movie will be dark and gritty and thus samey. Thats the big problem, they want Batman type profits from there other character, which just isnt realistic.
It's not that they want Dark Knight profit levels, they want The Avenger level profits, which was about 2x the size, but again, rather unrealistic.

I know I'd probably get a warning for it, but can I just type out "WONDER WOMAN" over and over and over again?

Seriously, she is literally one of the three top members of the Justice League. If Flash gets a film before, then I genuinely do not know what WB are thinking.
It's for reasons like this I think proves that Marvel has won the Big Screen. When you consider how wildly the successful Marvel movies, WB need to be very smart in taking the Big Screen back.

In all honesty though, I think WB and DC should focus on the TV, now is the time for them to really cash in there. There only competition is Agents of Shield, which will NEVER be as good as people want it to be because of the constraints Joss is under.
Literally in all other markets DC is technically winning. They have better straight to DVD animated movies. Even if they aren't lasting as long as they did years ago DC still has better animated TV shows. They have a better live action super hero show than Marvel does currently. They have better video games based off of their characters. Except even with all of that success it doesn't matter because Marvel got successful in the one area where the real big bucks are. Sure DC has "lost" the big screen war but with their next 2 movies lets see if they can pull it together. If Man of Steel 2 is good and a hit and The Flash is the same thing then they will have finally broken even and get on the same playing field as the Marvel films. And when that happens its just a matter of time to see if the new Spider Man franchise will cave in on itself along with the X-men and Fantastic 4.

Didn't The Rock recently express interest in playing a character who could stand up to/ stand up against Superman anyway? Lobo has had his own adventures and gone up against the Justice League (kinda) but didn't he have more fights with Superman than anybody else? Even if he didn't, Lobo and Superman fighting would make for the fun times I'd think. Much more than when Lobo fought Deathstroke but I'm half tempted to write off anything Liefeld works on as non-canon...
The Rock has said he's in talks with Warner Bros. about appearing in a DC movie. I think that has been the extent of it. What character or movie he is supposedly in is unknown. I still think he'd be a perfect fit for Lobo.

I want to feel confident in this news, but until WB/DC can produce a comic book movie that (a) doesn't suck, (b) doesn't have the Nolan/Snyder/Goyer trifecta attached to it, (c) involves characters that are not centered around Batman and/or Superman, and (d) stays nearly true to said character's rich history without having him/her end as another shade of Batman, I'm not going to raise my hopes too much.

It's also not helping matters that DC/WB are trying to play catch-up with Marvel/Disney without considering what made their competition successful. It goes back to the "monkey see, monkey do" thought process Hollywood has when it comes to hit movies (see horror genre during the Scream and Saw eras). I would love to see movies like Blue Beetle/Booster Gold or Power of Shazam but WB/DC needs to get their shit together like yesterday. And getting over the severely outdated grim & gritty aspect that tainted Man of Steel would be a good start imo.

I LOVE Arrow, was never a big fan of comic book Green Arrow(not from lack of trying) but that show really works for it. It's not perfect sure but if they can make a movie with Arrow's level of quality then I would be extremely happy.

I think picking Gal Gadot for Wonder Woman was an utter insult to women, but it's the same with every female lead reguardless of who they are playing you get some stick thin actress to look pretty but you know you could beat them in an arm wrestle using your little finger. Wonder Woman was an Amazonian warrior at least have the bottle to portray a physically strong woman in the correct role for once Hollywood not some poster eye candy.

Frankly a Wonder Woman movie would fail simply because people would be to busy arguing about representation rather then the actual merits of the movie

hell most of you seem to think it would be awesome based on nothing more then she's a women

Let me guess, it will go something like this:

Batman Vs. Superman
Superman Vs. Batman
A new Batman Trilogy
Batman & Superman Vs. Superman & Batman
Superman: Gotham Adventures ft. Batman
Batman Episode II: Attack of the Clones
Wonder Woman

Sorry, that last one was just a little joke.
The cynic in me smiled and the hopeful kid frowned. Can't I have John Stewart? The Question and Huntress? Wally West or Barry Allen? Or, god forbid, an honest to goodness Wonder Woman movie that focuses on her heroics and the reasons WHY she's so damned important to the JLA? No? Guess I'll be picking up some combination of Superman/Batman in a dark, gritty reality where hope goes to die along with a sensible plot.

While I do agree that there is an almost no-wins scenario for including Wonder Woman (someone, somewhere is going to ***** about some aspect of her no matter what) the reason they NEED a Wonder Woman movie is to demonstrate exactly how "super strong, can fly, and totally a woman" isn't why she's so important to the team. Any movie with her in the starring role needs to be defined by exactly what it is that Diana brings to the table that sets her apart from the rest and makes them dependent on her.

I wanna see an Aquaman movie, just to see how the hell they pull it off with a straight face.
The only way to make it work would be to actually get the guy from Entourage to play Aquaman. (That and a good script)
But I'm with you, it's hard being a Hero when Captain Planet makes you look un-neccessary.

I'm with you, Why isn't it Lucy Lawless? She's damned gorgeous, and was Xena: Warrior Princess. Am I alone on this? How is this not a thing?

No surprises here really and it probably won't be hard to guess where DC is going after Superman vs. Batman in terms of solo films.

My guess is we're gonna see a solo Wonder Woman film since neither DC nor Marvel has capitalized on this glaring hole in their superhero lineup. While Black Widow does a good job at filling that role within these films she hasn't had a solo outing or one solely focused on her, she's sort of second fiddle to everything happening around her.

Batman seems like another strong candidate, give Affleck more time with the cowl and allow for the writers (perhaps Affleck himself?) to give new perspective on this take of the Caped Crusader.

Superman will no doubt get another solo film, especially in light of all the criticism about how the Man of Steel sequel isn't really about the Man of the Steel.

Green Lantern will no doubt get a reboot, this time focusing on John Stewart not only to distance itself from Ryan Reynolds outing as Hal Jordan but also to add a splash of color to the Justice League lineup.

The last one I see getting announced is a bit of a stretch but in light of the recent interview with Dwayne Johnson about what his role would be in the DC universe I'm guessing he's gonna play Black Atom in the Captain Marvel film.

The others I see being incorporated into the Justice League film in the same manner that Batman is being incorporated into the Superman vs. Batman film, they've just always been there. Flash will no doubt be recast from his TV counter-part, Aquaman showing up is a toss up, Martian Manhunter will be there, and I doubt we'll see Hawkgirl... yet. DC will want to give Wonder Woman as much space as possible to shine as a powerful female hero and once she's established Hawkgirl will be brought in to expand upon the female role models on offer.

It's probably an age and cost thing. They want a younger actress so that if they achieve Avengers levels of success they can milk Wonder Woman's presence in future movies and if they are going to make multiple films they don't want someone who will want a hefty fee. They could have Lucy Lawless as Wonder Woman's mother though I guess, if they are going to have some sort of origin story for her then it's likely Wonder Mum will show up. Bonus points if she wears the Xena outfit :D

I really don't care what they make as long as it features someone other than scowly orphan and super orphan. I would suggest a Birds of Prey movie but since DC have issues with female leads they'd probably implode at the thought of a film with more than one.

Not only is Black Widow getting her own movie, but it's been planned since before the Avengers.
It's a true shame that Wonder Woman is getting pushed to the Background, there's a huge opportunity there to do the character Justice, and create a positive depiction of strong Women. Here's Hoping.
